I agree. Very sad!

Thanks, Kake. That's really interesting. Although for me it might turn out to be one more way to ut off actual writing.
Indeed but I've never really considered it in terms of a writing tool, which I think is kind of silly and ironic. Plus, regardless of the outcome, if done correctly, it can be (especially for me because I am a bit of a collage artist, I suppose) a work of art or at least a creative endeavor in and of itself. I cannot remember the last time I made an honest-to-god NON-digital collage. Might be fun and who knows? Could inspire some writing as well. If so, it's just gravy, I reckon. Sorry - typing out loud here, so to speak.

I loved the whole thing except for one. (That one really turned me cold... consensual openness is crazy-hot for me, and nonconsensual openness is the antithesis.) It's actually more often about risky sex than it is about temperature, though there are a few temperature ones. Check out my review!

I think the readers who've joined us here deserve huge thanks for all their wit, spirit, warmth, and enthusiasm for good sex in general and the way erotica contributes to that. I'll miss the exchanges and friendship. Love you all! We can all keep reading and writing and supporting erotica, though.

If someone starts a thread a month after a new book comes out (and like, a two-weeks-in-advance reminder to all of us to read it) I hope we can still discuss things!

Yeah, I hadn't really thought of it as a writing tool before and don't think it'd be my usual m.o. in terms of writing, but as an experiment, I'd like to see where it leads, maybe?

I'm going to take off now too. I have to put my granddaughter to bed and then get on some work I need to get done.

Thank you everyone! This has been a wonderful, fun, educational, inspiring club.

Thank you Kat, Brenda, Laurel, Kristina, Sacchi and the members for making it so.

Woo hoo! I hope you enjoy Steamlust. It's really such a FUN book-- even people who don't like erotica have enjoyed it (or don't know/like steampunk).

Here's a question for readers. Do you refer a book that's entirely focussed on kink, or one where there's a variety of types of sex, so that the kinky ones stand out?
Personally, I'm of the mindset the more kink the better. In all honesty, I wonder if I've, to a certain degree/extent, almost desensitized myself to sex without at least some degree of kink. When I'm reading vanilla erotica as foreplay, it doesn't really work for me and I generally switch books/stories. This makes me sad, esp. because I do enjoy relatively vanilla sex (on rare occasions). I'd hate to think I'd lost that part of my sensuality/sexuality. Le sigh.

Hmmm, I'd be curious to know the approximates prices they ask. Must also depend on the fetishes involved.
Let's just put it this way - there was a range, decent enough I suppose, but as a starving artist on disability there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell of me being able to afford the least expensive option. Even if I saved for months. (Really, i'm hilariously poor).

I hope those of you who've been reviewing books keep it up, because there are plenty more great ones down the line. And if you really like a book, giving it a mention on Amazon or Goodreads or elsewhere would be much appreciated by the writers.

Oh, wow. The quotes I saw around my part of the country were a bit steeper. More the 200-400 bucks/hr range.

And I meant to add in my last post, I hope one thing these discussions have accomplished is giving readers a sense of the very human writers behind the stories. Although I expect there are times when you'd really rather not think about that, which is okay, too. It;s good when the story sweeps you up to the exclusion of anything else.

This Domme did it herself (her dungeon was the top floor of her house) rather than through a boudoir... that option appealed to me more from an ethics standpoint, but I assume the ones that are run more like businesses probably cost a bit more as well.

I'll say good night now, but i'll hang around for a bit. You've all been great company, and Eden Fantasy has been wonderful in giving us this venue for so long. I came along fairly late in the program--Kristina was the real moderator and spirit of the place until she had to take a break for kidlet-wrangling, and it's been great to have her here whenever she could manage.
