I can see where you're coming from, but if you've got an allergy that bad, you'll be in the best pace to find that out. I'd be more afraid of finding out an allergy like that in an uncontrolled situation. But if you've never had a really severe reaction, I think you'll be fine.

Hopefully whatever sort of allergies you have, they are mild? So low risk for having a severe reaction. But, they are right, if you are going to have an allergic reaction to anything, the Dr's office is the place to be.

@Alys & Laurel--- that's a good point, better to find out there than elsewhere. I already have a severe allergy to bee stings (as in, EpiPen time) and one to pepper that's not much better, but other things are starting to cause milder problems with my age so we thought it would be good to figure out what all I should start avoiding. I'm just a total chicken-shit about these things

I know how you feel, I've got an appointment with a dermatologist to get checked for skin cancer. Just thinking about it makes my heart race, and not in a good way...

Yeah I never sleep the night before these things. I'd be much better off if they'd call me out of the blue and say "Can you be in here in about an hour for a test?" LOL

Yeah, gives you less time to build it up into a huge scary thing in your mind. But it does make the actual thing anti-climactic usually.

I know, Alan and I had about 20 questions for her between us but we managed to narrow it down to a 3-in-1 kind of thing. I'd imagine that she's going to get swamped with questions considering all that she does here.
