Reviewers Spotlight - Airen Wolf and Antipova

Contributor: Ansley Ansley

Hello there, and welcome to our third month long Reviewers Spotlight! How this is going to work is that you have all month long to ask our wonderful reviewers questions. They'll answer when they can, and you can keep asking until the end of the month!

This month's spotlight features Airen Wolf and Antipova, both are long time contributors and club managers on Eden!

Antipova's biography:

I'm Antipova---probably one of the only reviewers on Eden who doesn't know how to pronounce her own screen name.

I wrote my first review the day I discovered Eden (hunting for a NobEssence toy). I was reading reviews for a toy I already had, and I discovered that every other reviewer had neglected to mentioned the characteristic I thought was most important---so naturally I picked up my pen to chime in!

I hadn't done any creative writing since high school, and as I hung around more and more I feel like I've developed my voice both as a written reviewer and as a video reviewer.

One of my favorite ways of contributing to the community is hosting the Eden Cooks club---I love cooking, learning, and sharing---and Eden Cooks gives me a great place to get ideas and share what I know with awesome people.

Airen Wolf's biography:

I am currently 42 years old and I have been a stay-at-home Mom/Homeschooler for the last 15 years. Before making the decision to stay at hom with my kids I had many, many different jobs though the one that brought me the most money was customer service. I am Pagan, Polyamorous and currently involved in a stable triad with two loving and devoted men. We are currently working on moving our family under one roof. We have three kids and we also have a very close and intimate social group that we spend as much time as we can squeeze into our day with. A few of the ladies in our group have decided to join the EF community and it's amazing the conversations we have!

I discovered Eden Fantasys when I stumbled upon a toy review by pure accident. I followed the link and was amazed at the depth of the review. I tip toed around the site and decided to sign up. It was during that initial exploration that I heard about the review program. I had no confidence in my ability to write but I was intrigued by the idea and thought, "What the hell!" After four reviews I submitted my request to be upgraded and Victoria promoted me saying that she liked my enthusiasm. My first reviews were heavily enthusiastic but slowly they became much more useful.

My partner, Arch, loved my writing and was quite willing to enjoy my work for himself but always encouraged me to let other people read them as well. I wrote reviews for a few months before I began to really take notice of what was going on with the site and the community. When the idea for a writing club was brought up here at EF I kinda jumped in with both feet. We have just celebrated our 1 year anniversary and are eagerly awaiting our first book! We are thriving and always looking for eager writers or critical readers.

I discovered toys quite late in my sexual life but once I found EdenFantasys I never looked back. I was super enthusiatic and wanted to try EVERYTHING in the beginning but quickly discovered that there are certain types of toys that suit my body and playstyle. One absolutely shocking benefit to being involved in the Eden Fantasys Community is the way that I have come out of my shell. I was never one to wear lingerie and I laughed when people told me it was good to have a sexy lingerie drawer! Well with the loving support of the people right here I have become quite the lingerie lover, and not just because it excites my partners.
Through the program I have been able to realize the dream of having BDSM toys that both my partners and I can indulge in. The gentle support and frank open talk about the whys and hows of respectful, safe, sane, and consensual play have opened up my guys to trying sometimes intimidating and scary new things. This is one of the many reasons that I have stayed here rather than bothering to look elsewhere on the net. For quite sometime EdenFantasys has been home and I am not in any hurry for that to change!

Captivating topic discussions on Prostate massagers:

Female asking for advice: What are the best things about the Pspot for a straight male?
After looking around for my own anal toys, I quickly discovered this Pspot world. I would love to present this type of information to my partner,...

Ohhhh, awesommmme! Two of my favorite reviewers I will now proceed to ask you a bunch of weird, random questions. Wheeeeee!!

What are your favorite TV shows?

Do you have any pets? What kinds and what are their names?

Would you rather be able to teleport or be invisible?

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

What size shoe do you wear?

Are you picky about the color of your sex toys? Is there a color you always choose if it's available or do you go for a variety?

Would you rather eat dinner at a fancy restaurant or around a campfire?

What are your favorite TV shows?

I haven't had regular tv access in a long time, but I enjoy Dr. Who, the Simpsons, and the occasional miniseries.

Do you have any pets? What kinds and what are their names?
I'm not settled in a permanent house this point in life, so I just have to love other folks' pets for now. Cats are amazing, but they make it hard to find apartments

Would you rather be able to teleport or be invisible?
Definitely teleport. I can already take off my glasses and become invisible, right? Plus, if I could teleport, think of all the EF'ers I could meet!

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An oceanographer. Right?

What size shoe do you wear?
Uhh, men's 6.5... women's I think it's an 8?

Are you picky about the color of your sex toys? Is there a color you always choose if it's available or do you go for a variety?
I would always choose blues (top pick), greens or yellows if they were available. (Wood and metal and glass are 100% welcome, of course!) Since there aren't enough blue toys in the world, I just aim for variety instead.

Would you rather eat dinner at a fancy restaurant or around a campfire?
Ouf, tough choice. I really enjoy expertly-prepared food... but I also love me a good campfire with stories and friends (and I can make a pretty good camping batch of pancakes anyhow )... I guess I would pick the fancy restaurant, just because I don't have that opportunity as often as I have the opportunity to have campfires.

I came up with my username from the married last name of the heroine in Dr. Zhivago (the Boris Pasternak book / David Lean movie ). Partly because I identify with her, partly because I knew it would be tough to google (Julie Christie is much prettier than me!) I don't actually know how to pronounce it, though, because her last name is never said aloud in the movie and I'm not all that up on my Russian inflection.

Well, I basically just write what I would want to hear---what I was curious about before I bought the toy. For example, in my Pure Plug Medium review, I was totally stumped on size for like a month before buying it, so most of my review focused on the sizes and their benefits.

Or for the Vr8, I didn't know how flexible it would be so I stalled on the purchase for a long time because of that, so I was sure to include lots of information on flexibility for others.

Mostly, in my reviews, I like to talk about what I was expecting/why I wanted the toy, and then how it held up to expectations. And always always flexibility.

I don't know if that's so unique... maybe I just ask unique questions that demand unique answers!

What are your biggest pet peeves?

When cars honk their horns to assure you that you've locked the door with the li'l remote deal. I always jump when I hear it, and then I get embarrassed---somethin g so common shouldn't phase me, right? Oh well.

Describe your life using the title of a song.

This is tough. I'll have to keep thinking.

Yay! Congrats to both of you. Both of you are some of my favorite reviewers!

Both of you:

What was your favorite assignment so far? And what was the least favorite? Is there any kind of item you haven't reviewed yet that you are looking forward to reviewing? How about dreading writing the review? And finally, what is the one toy you just can't live without?

Awesomesauce times two!!! I love both of you so much.

Airen, got that lighted storage cabinet built yet? I am eager to see all the glass displayed under light!

Antipova, I was thinking your name came from a car or motorcycle, cool that it came from a book. I just pronounce it like it looks. lol

For both y'all. Any toy that just scares you whether it be shape or size? If money was no object, what kind of car/motorcycle would you like to own?

Airen: What made you decide to become a stay at home mom? (not criticizing, I'm one too )

Antipova: I always wondered where you came up with your screename. I also wanted to be an oceanographer when I was little! What are some of your favorite things to do when you have free time?

The answer to this is super easy: Just come to any club meeting, whenever you can! They are usually the third monday of the month at 8pm EST (or just check the calendar for upcoming events!) Or if you can't make it to the meeting, read through and leave comments later.

Soon we're hoping to have a monthlong participation thread where you can post pictures of your own meals too, but that's still in the works.

But until then, just drop by our section of the forum!

Let's see---I think my favorite assignment so far has been the Jopen Intensity. It turns out I really, really, really love electrostimulation, and I don't know if I would have saved up enough to try it out had it not been an assignment. Now I'm a huge convert and keep waiting for EF to stock more electrostimulation toys...

My least favorite assignment, probably, would be... oh, maybe the Cake lip gloss? I'm just not a lip gloss person so I felt like I had a really hard time objectively reviewing it.

I haven't gotten a chance to review anything that's pure electrostimulation yet (like the Nexus iStim or the Fetish Fantasy Shock Therapy), and I'd definitely like to do that in the near future.

As far as dread---hm, I guess I don't think I'll ever feel qualified to write a strap-on harness review. I feel like, there are so many ways that people might be using them: on men as pegging harnesses, for FF couplings, worn by men for double penetration of a female... I feel like I don't have the life circumstances to let me test all those different uses so I never feel like I can do a complete job. So, even though I have a couple of harnesses, I doubt I'll be putting up reviews for them...

One toy I can't live without? I'm going to have to go with a butt plug here, because in a world without dildos, I'd at least have gentlemen to fall back on. But you can't walk around all day with something in your ass that isn't a butt plug. So I guess I'd have to keep my NobEssence Romp or my Pure Plug Medium. I don't know which.

It's my real name that comes from an automotive part!

I ... have yet to meet a toy that I'm scared of.

This one just makes me curious: (SquarePeg's "Chain Gang")

but probably not curious in a way that I would ever try it out.

If money was no object... when I was a kid I would have said a Bentley (inspired by Good Omens, right?), but I actually saw some Bentleys this year, and they didn't really look my style. I need a manual transmission to feel comfortable. So, I'd probably split down the middle and get two---an old, easy-to-repair two-door car from the late 60's (100% rust free, of course ) , and a more lightweight four-door hatchback for taking my bike with on roadtrips, for when I want good gas mileage.

Oh, and a (100% rust free, again) 1990 Ford Lariat, full bed but standard cab.

Yay oceanographer buddies!

When I have free time (when does that happen?) I enjoy reading and biking. And learning about unusual things that I could possibly cook. I do my best to work these things into my days even when I don't feel like I have free time, though, because I think they're important for my mental health

I'm glad I've got a good reputation Editing is fun for me, but I think it might get exhausting if that was my sole occupation. I'm always happy to edit things on the fly (ever need a paper proofread, add me on skype and I'll edit it for you!), especially when I get to learn about things I hadn't ever had a chance to research before.

If I was a pure professional editor, though, I think I'd have to work with the same writing a few times before publication, and I would have much less fun after I was already familiar with the content.

Heh, or I could be like Dr. Zhivago---"Editing is as much an occupation as good health!"

My silly questions for both of you:

- What is your favorite pizza?

- Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10?

- If you could pick one vehicle to drive, what would it be and why?

- What's your favorite thing to do outside of Eden?

WOW...ok I have many different TV shows that I like. Law and Order (almost the whole franchise but particularly SVU) is probably my most favorite though.
I have a cat to whom my children belong named Sebastian (Basi for short). we used to have a Shi-tzu named Pete but he passed on about a year ago.
I went through a horrible period in my life where I wanted and even practiced to be as invisible as I could be but now if I could have a "power" I'd LOVE to be able to teleport. Even if all I could manage was between here and Canada!
When I was a child I wanted to be a Mommy. I really don't remember any other desires or dreams, I think I was just trying to get old enough to get out of my Parent's house.
I wear a 7 1/2 shoe....and you know what they say about that!...I have large feet for a five foot woman
I LOVE my purple toys, I do have other colors but if it's available i will almost always choose the purple...or red.
The last question is a hard one because I love cookouts about as much as reservations! Still more than likely you'll find me at a fancy restaurant quicker than around a campfire.

Airen MoonWolf is my craft name and the one that I was most comfortable with for many years. As I have come to know, love and respect myself I have become more comfortable with my given name. The way I received my craft name is quite a long story and so very Wiccan I tend to drop the "moon" from my name so that it isn't quite so whifty.

My favorite assignment so far was the Vr4.5...I love that silly vibe. I think the worst reviews I have been assigned were ones I assigned myself! I decided to buy some body stockings at 30% discount so I would be forced to try them out. I have a low self esteem problem so it's, generally, good therapy. The problem is I like how I look in them but I am not comfortable sharing how I look online! I know a lingerie review is better with pictures but I am really not comfortable even though I know that the community would be most supportive...so ya most definitely the least favorite reviews I have contemplated.
I have reviewed such a variety of products I don't think there is anything I am looking forward to reviewing!
I would be most lost if I didn't have my clitoral vibes, I really do love them the most. I would be lost without my floggers and paddles as well.

I don't have it built quite yet but I do have a lighted credenza that I am thinking of re-purposing!
The only toy that ever came close to causing my vagina to weep with fear was the Belladonna Bitch Fist...I believe it's been discontinued but when we carried it I volunteered to review it but chickened out...quickly!
I would love to own a recreational vehicle that gets good gas mileage and has all the conveniences. I want to travel the country so badly with my family.
