Has anyone heard of the Affiliate program and how it works?

I think the tutorials have all been pretty awesome so far. If my students ask me any questions repeatedly I'll try to remember to ask for a tutorial to be made.

I would benefit from an explanation... even though I am one, I couldn't in all honesty say I fully understand.

I have a question about taxes for the affiliate program. What does it say if you get a w9 or w2. Does it say Eden Fantasies on it? I dont want the tax people up in my business if I ever got that.

So posting a pig penis would be a really bad idea?

Yeah, I've just been using mine on-site to avoid tax worries.

It'll say "Web Merchants"

They're sending out the 1099's as we speak/type. They'll be all out by 1/31.

You'll only get one if you did more than $600 in sales for the year.

Oh crud - I never thought about the affiliate program and taxes until now. Of course, I don't have enough "earnings" to get a W-2...but I will need to look into that.

So if you're using the credit on-site...I take it that doesn't count as "income"?

If you didn't send in a W-4 or W-2, for that year, you wouldn't have gotten paid.

Someone else can answer for sure, but that's the assumption I've been under. Of course I'm way under $600 in affiliate earnings, so no headache anyway apparently.

I ask because I notice that I have a little earned but haven't sent in the form yet.

JR - this leads me to a question "what about gift cards for video reviews?"

Are those taxable?

Ah ok. I knew it was above 600 because its the same with sweepstakes if you win more than 600 you have to claim it. So I didnt promote my affiliate code because I was afraid to go above 600 and then my tax people would be like oh whats this. But now I know and will promote my code. Awesome.

Just as a note, remember that *any* income, regardless of amount, does have to be reported as income when doing taxes.

to be an affiliate, it's part of the process. It has to be filled out before any payments can be made/credits claimed.
