I have a slight background in editing irl, aced my copyediting class in college, and really actually love editing/copyediting/et c. I also have a HUGE library of grammar & style manual books, etc. as well as the newest oxford dictionary & their writer's thesaurus (the newest editions of dictionaries are always sooo nice when you first get them). even though i've just done one review, my rank is high enough to apply to be an editor, something i'd really, really like to do. is it too soon, or should i go for it?

That does make a huge diff, lol. So maybe work w/ a max of 2 mentors? Or just spend a little extra time covering everything with the one?

Once you are advanced (when your first mentor passes you) your rating will go up and you will be requesting your own assignments. You should be able to request whatever assignment is within your price range based on your rating whether you are in the mentor program or not.

At least I believe this is correct... JR?
