After you "grab" it, there should be a button to "request it" If it's available, and you're eligible for an item, then it should let you request it. You might have to write a quick note to the admin (a box will pop up)

There's a link on your public profile for the Review program guidelines. There are directions/pictures there on how to request products and write reviews.

It's okay. Please be patient with me . I was trying to ask what BBW Talks Toys answered: After you "grab" it, there should be a button to "request it" If it's available, and you're eligible for an item, then it should let you request it. You might have to write a quick note to the admin (a box will pop up).

That's what I was asking. I apologize for not being clear

I have a question specifically regarding assignment items which have gone out of stock before being shipped. (I have 2 and have submitted a support ticket)
What is your general policy on this issue, and also is there a way to keep these items assigned for a later date?

I am still a beginner, so I am not eligible to request reviews yet, after how many personal reviews do you recommend asking about an upgrade?

okay, as a "Reviewer" not an "Advanced Reviewer" you cannot request assignments. You can either get a mentor, who will not only help you with reviews, but can answer all your questions about the site; or you can go up for a community vote. Personally, I recommend the mentor program since it's about much more than just reviews.

No worries, if you don't ask you will never know. I saw BBWs answer and thought "oh okay"

Thank you! Yeah royalty-free, it is. That term is often used where you need to pay a few dollars for a license of the song.

Another question:

Is it generally okay to not speak in the video or it'll be judged more strictly and expected to offer something more than usual?

I've seen some great video reviews with no speaking. Creative editing can be really effective.

They do as far as I know, but if the follow-up review takes a while to be published, it shows up in the time frame under which it was submitted. So if I submit my follow-up at 5pm on a Friday night, and 10 more reviews get published before my follow-up, it shows up on the second page of the reviews on the community news page. At least that was my understanding of it anyway. I see follow-ups on the news page all the time, could we maybe talk to tech about making it so that it showed up when it was published rather than backdating to when it was submitted?

Do you have a mentor? There are lots of awesome contributors here who will help you. And you don't have to be Advanced to get an assignment if you have a mentor. Once you graduate a class, you'll already have the Advanced status and can start working on your own.

I see. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I need to be granted the Advanced Contributor level first.

This happens from time to time. It sucks. Sometimes the person entering the stock numbers hits a two instead of a 3, it shows in stock and the manufacturer hasn't sent it to us yet, but we have it live...different reasons.

You can keep them on hold for as long as you want, but the timing could start against you for review time if you want to request more products.

It's easier to explain on a case-by-case basis.

The best policy is to request a mentor and go through the program, once you graduate you will automatically become an advanced reviewer. Otherwise you must complete 2 reviews and apply for advanced status, and you will either be voted to advanced or not, (hopefully) based on the quality of your reviews.

I'M going to stop hijacking JR's workshop and let him answer that question!

I think I hear the kitchen calling me to make dinner. (Or it could be the chitlins at my side saying they're hungry)

Mr. Sauce, I humbly apologize for the thread-jack and if you can find an answer to my question, I'll be much appreciative.

Speak or not speak, it's ALL up to you in the style. As long as the requirements are met, you could do it with a rubber chicken on your head and we'll take it

After my first review, I was sent an assignment to review a product and I don't think I'm an Advanced Reviewer yet.

You can apply for a mentor by going through the list and finding one who appeals to you and is available. All you have to do is send a little note along and they will (hopefully) contact you back in a short period of time.
