Do all the mentor run their classes their own way or is there a general rule set they follow?

Mentor Program

I think this was a huge asset to the community since day one.
Yes it is! It has produced some great contributors.

Each class is different, as each mentor is different.

There isn't a set list of must-haves, but they should cover the basics of Eden.

Ideally, when a student is done with a class, they'll have learned about more than just the review program.

There are some basic rules like, how to get products for students, price and the like. But each Mentor has there own style of teaching.

In the classes I've done (3), I used the EdenBlog to cover a lot of basics.

PLUS: Kindred's thread has been helpful too!

Really...not that much.

Pretty much anyone can be a reviewer.

Is there plans to take Kindred's thread and make it permanent somewhere for all the new ones to read?

I'd suggest having a word processing program, Word or Open Office. This will help with the spelling and grammar issues that a lot of us have forgotten since HS.

We're basically looking for people who can write objective reviews on products and be as thorough as possible.

Thanks I've been reading threads and such about the program, but I've been a little nervous to sign up for a class is all. I love the idea behind it though. I'm on here all the time and it's just one new thing after another. bam bam bam :p

His thread will always be up on the forums. You can bookmark it for convenience.

The EdenBlog is also a great source of info.

I can relate to this. I am a quality review analyst, I see examples of our grammar gaps since HS.

I see, thanks for the link will check it out. But with so many mentors available what is the best way to go about finding one?

I would be lost without Open Office, my grammar sucks!

I strongly recommend joining up with a mentor. We're all pretty cool here, so it helps you by having someone right there for you too!

I was hesitant at first too. Once I started writing reviews, I was hooked!

Look for one that has some similar interest or one that you like their writing style.

Check out their areas of expertise. I'd also look for someone of whichever gender you identify with.

That is exactly how I ended up doing it. There were just so many to choose from, I finally went by writing style.
