How do I add brands in there from my admin area?
As far as I can tell they autofill once you start adding products to the store.

On the positions page, you can move modules around using the feature called "Transplant a module." It's a link near the top of the Positions page.

On this page (Transplant a Module) there are ... more
Ohhh, this changes around the layout of ya store - how it looks on the website?

Here's an example of using the Transplant a Module feature. In this example I want to move the Permanent Links Block to the Left Column Blocks section of the store, where the categories and cart blocks are displayed.

You don't need to add brands, as they are added automatically when you add products to your stores, just like the rest of the product data.

If you wanted to see the brands / manufacturers in the Back Office, click the Catalog Tab and then click Manufacturers (link under the tab bar).

What exactly is the Permanant Links Block?
02/01/2011
Contributor: Rockin' Rockin'
The Permanent Links Block has been lovingly referred to as "that ugly black bar" by some affiliates, and is that bar that might appear at the top of your store with the links "Contact / Sitemap / Bookmark" in it.

I just checked out your store, Shell, and it's at the top but somewhat hidden by your logo. Try moving it to the Left Column Block and it'll appear a bit more nicely.

I just ... more
Ahhh.
I don't have the contact and all that showing up but I'm guessing that will come later as I become more established?

Also, is there a way to change the color of my store name? It's showing in orange.

I think you pretty much got it covered Kris! Just wanted to say to anyone who thinks they can''t do this, they can. It's not rocket science or I would not have done it. Takes some learning but once you get it up and running it becomes a lot easier!

I think the "Contact / Sitemap / Bookmarks" part is just obscured by your logo. If you move the module somewhere else, the links should be visible.

I think the only way to change those heading colors is through your host files, in the stylesheet (I think? I am not a CSS guru.).

Yeah you have to change the colors via the css, something I might play with over the weekend, see what funky colors I can come up with like I have in the past when I've decided to play with my css...

Ahhhh ok.
I'm not keen on that logo anyway so will have a fiddle around so the links are visible.

Hmmm, might ask bro if he can deal with changing that color if it's done through those files. I don't wanna muck those up...hehehe.

I believe so. The whole store theme is css driven so it should allow you to change everything in there appearance wise. As I said I might get time to play this weekend and I'll let you know how it goes.

Yeah, they would be customized using the global.css file, or at least they can't be changed through the store admin. We are working on coming out with new themes for affiliates to use in their stores, though, and I'll let you know if/when those are available.
