So I really like the idea of these, especially that they can look like thigh-high boots. But I'm not as into the type of high heels in the picture -- what other shoes do you think could achieve this effect? Somehow I'm not sure a lower heel would pull it off, but that's what I prefer.

Depends on what you're wearing the stockings and shoes with but how about some mary janes with a short skirt?
