Every Doc Johnson product I've bought is smelly!

A lot of them claim to be phthalate-free, but the smell sends my girlfriend running from the room.

Are there any that aren't smelly?

It sounds like a lot of the toys that you've tried are made from PVC, rubber, or jelly. Doc Johnson makes some silicone toys which should be scent-free: link

Along with that, most plastic toys are scent-free. Doc Johnson makes a lot of those. In fact, one of my favorite vibrators (and first vibrators) was the Doc Johnson Velvet Touch which is a plastic vibrator.

It's not really an issue with Doc Johnson; it's an issue with the material no matter what manufacturer. Still to find a no-smell try, try scent-free materials like plastic, silicone, glass, wood, stainless steel, and such. Along with that, check out the reviews before you purchase. If there is a strong scent to a product, most reviewers will definitely mention it.

Hope that helps you out!

Thanks! Maybe it was just bad luck!

I don't know if you are into rabbits but I just reviewed Doc Johnsons White Heat Double Delights. My review hasn't been published yet, but I was very pleased with it and there is little to no smell. It is made from TPR Silicone. If you are interested maybe you should check it out!

A lot of the Doc Johnson toys I've tried (but not all!) have an odor as well, I've noticed. None of them (except for Mr. Softee) seem to have retained the smell after a few washes though.

I have to agree with you on the Velvet Touch vibe. It was my first toy also and I loved it while I had it.

Hello!
Yes, some of the items we make do have a scent. Some people dislike it, some don't. It is the material used, not phthalates. PVC does have a scent and there is little we can do about it. But like Red mentioned, after a few washes, it usually fades away. If it is off setting, we do make silicone, hard plastic, glass, TPR and TPE which has no scent. Give em a try! On a side notes, I have a Velvet Touch vibe as well. I still LOVE it! It's my favorite type of material. Super easy to clean, and that vibe gets the job done every time!

Straight TPR/TPE doesn't smell much (compared to jelly or rubber), but once you go silicone, glass or metal you probably won't want to go back

The Velvet Touch is definitely one of my favorites too. Doc Johnson made such a great winning vibrator with that one. I love the velvet cote too.

Thanks for the information about other materials, Kerin! Sometimes the material itself just has a scent, but it's always nice to know which ones don't.

personally, I didn't find the lucid dream products to be smelly, but then again I love the rubbery plastic smell.

If your looking for something smaller then this works well and has no smell at all. It is made of hard plastic.

Definitely there with everyone else. It tends to be the materials. Glass, silicons and steel don't have any smells try one of those and see what you think!
