Powder Lubricant

Sir Sir
Hello!

I'd like to know what the powder lubricant that comes with the Vac-U-Lock attachments is. I do not believe that it says it anywhere on the box. I just wanted to be safe before using it!

Thank you!

If it is made of skin like material it might be for coating it after you clean it to maintain the toy. Mine is rubber and didn't come with anything like that. Which one was it?

No, it's not for coating it. You puff it into the hole to slide the plug into the dildo. They call it a "lubricant," but it's actually not a lubricant.

My rubber Vac-U-Lock didn't come with it either, only my Sil-A-Gel and UR3 did.

They might call it a lubricant because it makes the material less sticky and smoother and easier to slide in. Like in baking when you flour the pan so the dough doesn't stick. lol

oh and have you done the water test?
if you add water to power and it turns to clear/white water its talc.
if you add water to powder and it a thicker white, like skimmed milk, Its corn starch.
But the colors are very very similar so use best judgement.

That's why I asked the question about the ingredients. I wanted Doc Johnson to clarify for me, as I will not use it unless I know. And that is exactly why they call it a lubricant.

And still no reply huh?

I wonder if some gracious soul from EF might know?

Not to down on any ones safety parade cause i've noticed every ones fear of talc on this website. But its not gonna hurt yah, talc used in food, drugs, and cosmetics is FDA approved and wont hurt yah, i mean im sure your mom used talc on your bum and you dont have bum cancer do you? i really dont think sex toy makers would use unsafe talc...would they? i wonder now lol
i really dont know cause none of my toys have ever had talc on them. But most sex toys do use FDA grade material.

Well, I just wanted to make sure. I do not want to tell people to use it and be incorrect (since this is mainly for my review and personal knowledge in future reviews of Doc Johnson products).

Because everything that's FDA approved is good for you.

Actually talc can be very very irritating to your skin. It is also really bad to inhale as well as being linked to ovarian cancer...women with higher use of talcum on the genitals are more likely to develop tumors. The main thing here is that if Sir is planning to use this toy with a female I am quite sure he would like to know he is not shoving toxins into her body.

Certain banned drugs were once FDA approved too...so they must be safe right?

HAHA! Definitely agree. Actually, on one of the pamphlets that came with the attachment, it recommended "using talcum powder to retain softness," which completely rubbed me the wrong way. Not even using their powder lubricant that came with it, but using straight talcum powder. Much better to be safe than sorry, and that's exactly why I would like to know.

Holy crap! Seriously...that is just retarded. Corn Starch...all the way, including on my kids when they were babies.

My apologies for the late reply. The talc powder included in the vaculock harnesses is to be applied into the hole of your attachment before the vaclock harness is inserted. With out this it can be difficult to remove the attachment due to the suction shape. This also depends on the material you purchased. The UR3 attachments have a little more give compared to the PVC ones.

If you have a UR3 (TPE) attachment, after washing with soap, it is recommended to store this attachment in a bag with a little cornstarch. The cornstarch will keep your toy powder soft for your next use.

If you have worries about using talc powder or cornstarch it's totally up to you if you'd like to use it or not. A quick washing and a little lubricant will have your toy ready for use just the same.
