Hello, MH!

There are 8 metal bones in the cinch which will not bend. The cinch in the back is also very sturdy, so if you cinch it up (you may need some assistance, the girl in the video review on the product mentioned having her husband help her) to as tight as you can/want it, the shape of the cinch will hold around your waist. Since the metal bones in the piece are not flexible, I would recommend utilizing the size chart which is linked right above the available sizes to choose from.

I hope this helps!

Always make sure that the boning is steel and not plastic, in which case it will bend

It is steel, I lent one of mine to a friend who is bigger than I and it snapped, or something. Either way the boning was ruined.

Do you mean just sucking you in for a while or actual waist training ? I'd bet it could do the former, but not the latter.

With actual waist training, you're going to want something more fitted to your body's own measurements and 3D shape.

I have this and although it can be laced tightly, it's not really a tightlacing corset. The boning will flex a lot and can poke you in the side if you bend because it will bend with you.
I think you should go with a spiral steel boned one if you want it for tightlacing.

This may be *very* late, but I just did a review on the Satin Princess Cinch (found here: My Corset Is In Another Castle...).

Unfortunately, it is not suitable for tightlacing Most of (if not all) the bones in the corset are actually plastic. Only the busk is metal, and while the bones that sandwich the grommets *may* be metal, it isn't a good quality, because, just like the plastic bones, they warped and poked into my back. I also have pictures of the plastic boning from the Satin Princess Cinch, so that you all know I'm not just talking out of my hat, here.

So, in short, unfortunately it's not for tightlacing, and is not metal boned. I advise finding a corset with spiral steel boning if you're looking to tightlace. I know I was very let down by the corset having plastic bones, especially since the description says: "features double metal boning throughout the construction of the garment for the sturdiest and most effective shaping".
