Welcome to the second installment of EdenFantasys: The History Of A Sex Shop, we will be providing you with a new chapter of Eden's history every other week. We hope you enjoy!
For those of us who have not been at EdenFantasys from the beginning, it may be difficult to imagine the website looking any way other than it does right now. It might surprise some of you to know that Eden was not alway the well organized, sex megastore and community that we all know and love. However Eden has flourished over time, as the community and inventory selection were expanding, so was the site itself.
On EdenFantasys entry into the world in 2002, the site was much smaller, not only that, but the SexIs and Eden Cafe content that now draw so much attention was nothing more than a few posts on the the homepage and were referred to as Anthology. The site also came complete with a Joke of the Day and Horoscope section.
Take a look at the site back then. Fairly basic and easy to navigate. You can choose to be directed to product suggestions based on gender and sexuality, or you can check out the products by category (pleasure toys, sensual enhancers, gifts and gags and video & dvd). You could also find tips and information on purchasing toys based on your knowledge and experience level!

By late 2003 Eden had changed its look quite a bit, some of toy selection categories are gone, and so is the joke of the day, but the Anthology articles had started appearing at the bottom of the page, under the new title Sex and Sexuality Digest. Most notable is the Bid For Sex Toys feature where you can "Chose any adult sex toy and/or novelty from our extensive sex toys and adult novelty website and name your price. You need to convince us that your price is right. Tell us just how much pleasure you and your partner will derive from the sex toys in question or better yet send us a steamy story having to do with the adult sex toy in question. Be creative, be outrageous but above all be convincing so that we accept your bid " I don't know about you, but I wish I had been around for THAT!
In 2004, though it still had a long way to go, EdenFantasys finally began to resemble the site we are all familiar with, they had incorporated a seasonal banner, and the toy categories down the left side panel are pretty darn close. But wherever is the forum!? You will have to wait and read the next Eden History post to find out!
