Does your Fleshlight stretch or develop "micro-tears" after use?

Contributor: B8trDude B8trDude
I just read a comment in a review where someone was warned to not turn Fleshlight sleeves inside out during cleaning because that can cause it to either stretch or develop "micro-tears" (these were not defined in the comment). Although I have not had any problems with mine doing that, I was wondering if anyone has experience this.

Maybe they're microscopic tears that can collect bacteria?

I would assume so but the person who left the comment didn't state what they really were. I do know that if Fleshlights are not allowed to dry completely after cleaning, they can get moldy.

What I'd assume is that they're tiny tears that, over time, can become larger and wind up affecting the longevity of your product.

Flipping them inside out CAN cause some micro tears or even huge tears. Using the fleshlight without lube can also cause some damage (although I imagine it would be quite difficult to use one without lube)

I thought that flipping them inside out would cause some stretching, so I dry mine vertically so the water runs out.

My husband hasn't had any problems with his, but he follows the cleaning instructions I gave him. I told him to make sure to use plenty of lube during use, and just rinse it out really well and let it dry. So far we haven't noticed anything, but we've only had ours a few months.

Flipping them inside out could possibly cause damage. They just really are too tight to do that. We, personally, haven't torn one as we stopped flipping them inside out. We don't have any microtears from regular use.

For cleaning, the Fleshlight website recommends:
"Simply rinse your removeable Fleshlight sleeve with warm water from your sink and allow time for it to dry before storing. Do NOT use soap to clean your Real Feel Superskin sleeve. For tough cleaning, we suggest using a little isopropyl alcohol. To maintain that soft feel, sprinkle a liberal amount of corn starch on the sleeve and shake off the excess powder. We do NOT recommend the use of talcum or baby powder. NOTE: Powdering an Ice Fleshlight masturbation sleeve with anything other than corn starch will cause it to cloud over and lose its clear quality."

I voted yes for my partner's fleshlight.

He is pretty rough with it, and although I don't know if it is from being turned inside out to clean, he does have a few small tears starting on it.

I just think he is too rough!

Sigel's fleshlight hasn't had any issues but then he is well versed in toy care and is very careful with his toys.
Arch's on the other hand molded after he put it away in his closet and then developed tears after many many uses. I'm thinking of getting him a flip hole this time because he loves the toys but needs something he can clean and isn't high maintenance.

I don't think they've stretched any (he hasn't said so at least), but a couple of Alan's have developed a few of what might be called "micro tears" near the opening. They look like little nicks, and widen out if you put tension on the area around them. Neither of us has ever turned the sleeves inside out though, so it may just be something that happens as they get older.

I've never had any problems with mine. I'm not particularly rough with it during use, though. I do sometimes turn partially inside out when cleaning it, but I'm very gentle when I do so and haven't noticed any tearing so far.

I haven't got a fleshlight, but I just wanted to mention that you might have 'microtears' without noticing them. A microtear is too small to see with the naked eye unless you pull on it (like A&M said) and/or inspect it under a magnifying lens. So you might have some even if you think you don't.

I do the same, and have had no problems with tears over the 3 months or so of using it.

i've used about 5 different strokers of the same kind of material.. TPE, Superskin, and TPR are all about the same as far as tearing goes. every one of them has torn a little more with each use.

in my opinion, they all do it, you just have to look really closely to see them. especially in clear toys.

they can collect bacteria. in my experience, i tend to avoid fleshlight and TPR-type materials because they just collect dust, are impossible to sterilize, and get just gross. they feel like real skin but other than that... they suck.

bad dragon carries silicone strokers which are customizable and very expensive. those are the only silicone strokers i've ever seen. i wish EF carried them.

I may have been too rough, there is a hole on one of those in the middle of its wall. oO Uh oh. When you put it into the plastic case, look for it to have it properly put in. If you have a clear case you can see it's hard to stuff it in properly. If you have a solid case you might not even notice you put it in incorrectly. And it has lots of micro tears. When it arrived, some of the fins were stuck, I had to pull them a bit to free them and that resulted in other tears. These don't affect the pleasure factor anyway.

Someone from EF commented ages and ages ago that they'd reached out to Bad Dragon about carrying their line and BD declined or didn't respond or something like that. If you want BD toys here, write to BD directly.

OK,every one...here comes a dumb question: are any of these Fleshlights warrantied by the company? Not in the realm of sex toys, but with other stuff that I have had a problem with (like our toaster oven) I called the company about 6 months after we had it and the door hinge broke. They sent me a mailing label and box to return it to them and they sent us a brand spanking new one. Just a thought.

My review states exactly how rough I have been with mine and how much abuse it has took, I have never experienced micro-tears anywhere on my fleshlight. I could pass mine off as brand new. I've had mine for years and used it almost daily

Mine has a couple little slits right at the entrance. It's from sticking a damn tenga warmer in there once or twice... The edges of the tenga warmer just slit it open a bit. I don't notice the difference. The tears are decent size but have never got any bigger. I stopped using the tenga warmer for it after I discovered what it did to my precious fleshlight...

If my actual tears aren't a problem, I can't imagine micro tears would be.
