My wife especially is a huge fan of the original OhMiBod - but has been wondering about the mechanics of it. What exactly triggers the vibrations? It doesn't seem to be bass, which struck us as the most logical choice. We tried some really bass-y tunes and actually got 'better' results from less bassy- music. How exactly does the wonderful OhMiBod know when to vibrate and 'rock' your world?

From what I've read, it varies depending on which OhMiBod you've got. We have their Club Vibe and in Music mode it seems to respond to the song in general, definitely not just the bass or treble. My music tastes include some very bassy rap songs as well as screechy thrash metal, and there's good vibes to be had amongst them all.
I suspect that if we hooked it to a stereo system with a graphic equalizer we'd see the vibe would be responding to whatever tone ranges were the strongest in a song, but we haven't got an equalizer to test that theory on.
