#AskEden - UPS Sure Post dropped off at post office two cities away frome me

Contributor: xxxfan xxxfan
I have a PO Box address at my local post office which is literally right down the street from me. But when I was going through the checkout for the free shipping which I assumed would be regular UPS delivery - never heard of SurePost. It wouldn't let me add my PO Box number so I had to put my route number/physical address.

Upon checking the tracking number through it's travels it said it was supposed to be delivered tomorrow (May 02) but it now says it's been delivered and it's at the post office TWO CITIES AWAY. I don't even have a box at this post office nor do I even know where it's at in that city. Should I be concerned at all about this? I really don't want to have to drive out of my way just to get a package. It's now 7pm and my post office has been closed since 4pm. Should I wait and see if it's at mine tomorrow? I'm extremely concerned considering it's contents. Or should I call this other post office and see what is up?

I only used sure post once, and it ended up the same way as yours did. It was in the wrong town for a few days before showing up in my town. then it sat in the post office for a few more days before they tried to deliver it. It was just a bad way to ship something.

Just wanted to update on this situation and it gets dropped off at that post office because apparently it's closest to the UPS facility. I got my package at my regular post office this morning.

The partnership between UPS and USPS is quite interesting. I am thinking that the package was delivered 2 cities away was a mis ship. They usually find that they can't deliver the package and forward it to the correct post office that can. If you want to make sure, you can always confirm with the post office the package was delivered to. Just be sure to keep a close eye on your tracking.

Very nice.

We have never had issues with the Sure Post. It does take a day or two longer than before, but the price is right. I am glad that Eden offers it as a free shipping option.
