Problem Placing an Order

Has anyone else experienced trouble placing an order today? If you have experienced a problem similar to what I describe below and (especially) if you have found a way to troubleshoot and solve this problem, please let me know!

I got all the way through the order process to the very last page where it says, "Please enter your email to receive order confirmation email from us." My e-mail was already present in this field, so I clicked "Place My Order." However, I keep getting a message that states, "The email is required."

I have tried deleting my e-mail address and retyping it several times. I have also tried entering two of my other e-mail addresses and my husband's e-mail address, but I keep getting the message that the e-mail is required. The system does not seem to recognize that anything is in that field.

One thing that was different from past orders was that there was verification of my billing address, even though I was not using a credit card but was using a couple of EdenPoints-generated gift card codes (which the system accepted with no problem, bringing my owed balance down to zero). I figured the billing address verification was a new (and completely justified) change that was implemented after the epic points scam that Eden suffered, so I didn't think too much about this. But now I am wondering whether this is somehow linked to the problem with the requested e-mail in the form of some type of technological glitch.

Has anyone else tried to place an order and experienced anything like this? Since customer service is closed for the weekend, I won't be able to place my order this weekend if I cannot figure out how to problem solve this (i.e., what seems to be a technological glitch of the system not recognizing the presence of an e-mail address). Any tips would be appreciated.

I had that problem yesterday while trying to order my assignment. Once I added an item and used my card to pay for it everything went through just fine.
I did submit a ticket and then sent a second message saying it worked when I used my card.
Of course, it sucks until it's fixed if someone doesn't have any extra cash to submit an order right now.

Thanks for the tip! I went ahead and added batteries to the order and just paid via a credit card for them. I would have preferred not to charge on my credit card as I have forsworn charges to it, but at least it got the order to process.

I hope this glitch is worked out so that using a credit card is not required on every order.

I'm just curious to know whether you were able to pay solely using a gift card (or gift cards) generated by EdenPoints?

I'd normally just submit a support ticket (or call customer service), but they are closed for the weekend. I was pretty confident that someone would have a tip to help me problem solve this on my own (and I was right!).

I completely missed his discussion (I did a search for "problem" and "order"). I do know he had the same problem because he mentioned it on the Gift Card thread.

It looks like this is either a glitch in the system or an intended change that requires us to pay partially with a credit card anytime an order is placed that cashes in EdenPoints. Using a credit card allows the billing address to be verified.

No worries, I had no idea what folder to post it under. I also submitted a support ticket to make EF aware of what I am going to assume is a glitch. I don't think this would be intentional because it then requires us to have exact amounts on our GCs to complete the order. The system currently defaults to any GC previously loaded with a balance until it has a zero balance.

So the system "remembers" a previous GC balance when you go to place a new order? I've never had experience with that as I generally generate a code for the exact amount from my points. That's good to know (and very interesting--and seems to be a very helpful feature!).

Just a few moments ago, I arrived at the conclusion that this problem seems reserved to placing gift orders (i.e., placing an order to go to another person's address), but then I remember that Kim! (see her post above) had a similar problem when trying to order her assignment--effectivel y blowing my elegant hypothesis!

I put this over in Rachel's original thread too, but this looks like a useful spot:

I wonder if it's time to update the Points Program How It Works page. I'm looking forward to placing an order tomorrow and haven't quite figured out the new process yet---it would be good if the written FAQ matched the new system.

Updated! Basically, you can use as many points gift cards as you want, you just have to be logged in, and the points gift card must belong to that account. Regular gift cards that are not generated from your points can be used in any number on any account.

I was having a problem where it was telling me that Saturday Delivery wasn't an option and would be deactivated, but I was trying to pick the regular UPS method.

It has been resolved. I have been able to place 6 orders in the past 2 days paying with only GCs and points with no issues whatsoever. Thank you so much!

Thanks so much for looking into and fixing the e-mail error!

I have not placed another order, so I can't personally vouch that there are no more problems, but it's reassuring to hear that others have not had problems since your tech team fixed this.
