Buyout/out of stock

Contributor: BlackOrchid BlackOrchid
I have a question about a lingerie item that I wanted to do a potential buyout on. It says the color that I want is out of stock in the size I need. However, if I select it anyway it appears that it is allowing me to put it in the assignment cart anyway.

My question is, what will happen if I request this item? Will they hold it until that size comes back in stock? Will they ship it in the other color that is in stock? Or something else?

I had an issue like this. They ended up cancelling the buyout order, but I still had to write the review after buying the item again. You can't request a buyout again, but I contacted them via phone and ended up getting a gift card code for the amount.

This was almost a year ago, though, so I don't know what would happen now. Plus, my item was out of stock due to incorrect inventory, so it was EF's fault. I don't know what would happen if I had ordered an item actually out of stock.

Thank-you, SYN for your insight. I've decided not to test my fate, I may decide to do a buyout if it comes back in stock.

As a rule, unless an item shows as "in stock", either here or at any website seller, I just come back later, when it is "in stock" to buy it, otherwise you are providing payment information and such, on an item you don't know for sure will ever be there, plus, some companies may well ship a different item that you don't really want.
