Canadian Shipping and The New Options

Contributor: Breas Breas
I have a question for the staff (or for a Canadian member who has recently ordered since the shipping option change).

Awhile back EF was shipping with UPS. Then all of a sudden us Canadians were getting hit with crazy charges (not custom charges but other charges from UPS themselves.. I forget what the charge was called). So EF switched to USPS.

I recently noticed that we have the option to have our package shipped with UPS again, though it's almost ten dollars more. I'm wondering, has EF resolved the issue with UPS charging their Canadian customers those crazy fees? Or do we risk getting those fees again? If we do get those fees, is it basically "too bad so sad" for us?

The reason I ask is because USPS is slower than molasses. Seriously. While I hated the ridiculous fees that UPS charged, I'd always get my package rather quickly with them. If the fee issue has been resolved, I want to go back to getting my packages from UPS rather than USPS. I don't want to just order and find out though because one of the fees they charged me (awhile back) was like, $60. I would like to avoid that so I figured I'd bring it to the forum.

Anywho, thanks in advance!

The charges you incurred were charges applied by the Canadian customs agents. Unfortunately, Edenfantasys has no part nor control in these fees. If you need additional information, please contact customer service. Thank you!

If you take a look at the thread here: link

It seems as though the brokerage fees (I found the fee name that I was looking for after re-reading through that thread) are actually UPS charges from their company (not custom charges)... or at least that is what I understood?

I'm sorry, you're right. Brokerage fees are different than Customs fees. This is something you can submit a support ticket about and customer service can answer it for you.

It seems unlikely that this would continue to be an issue once the issue was made known. However should it be an issue, I am sure customer service will be happy to work with you.

Oh I just posted on the older post asking about this so I'd be interested in an update if you find one, thanks!

I'm getting ready to place an order today so I'd like to know more about this too.

I just placed an order with USPS so if possible I'd like to know how slow is "slow as molasses" is D: because my parents will be home on the 28th so that would be my deadline to receive the package (7 business days assuming the package is processed today).

Edit: Apparently it has now been shipped! 4 hours after I placed the order. I'm actually really impressed!

I'll update as this continues for future reference to other Canadians wanting to know the time it takes for a package to go from order -> shipping -> receiving. Though, I'm sure other people's accounts will vary from mine, it at least puts an experience out there for those who are curious.
