When you request for a mentor, what does it mean When it says the request was canceled by system?

That message is shown when you request multiple mentors at once and one of them accepts you; the system cancels all of the other requests you have pending because you can only be in one class at a time.

I've had it happen to me before and I only requested one as well. I have no idea why it happened. I've been trying to get a mentor for a while now and haven't had success in anyone getting back to me!

It's possible that the mentor declined your class request. Honestly, I'm not sure what message you get in that situation. It's also possible that the mentor had multiple requests, accepted someone else first, and then reached their maximum monthly number of students. We are only allowed to accept 4 students in any 30 day period. If in doubt, you can always send a private message to the mentor that you are interested in or submit new requests to other available mentors.

This!

If you are interested in the person only, message them and ask the next date they are available. And tell them you really want them as your mentor. They might be willing to save a placement for you.

If it's cancelled by the system, it's most likely what Kindred had said about multiple requests. This has happened to me so many times. I go and accept a student and the rest of the requests are automatically cancelled.
