We should have a round of applause for our Customer Service reps, Rachel K and Jaimes. They may not be able to hear us, but they should know it's well deserved. You ladies rock our socks. And all of you with your ideas and suggestions--bravo to you as well. This is part of what makes Eden awesome. *applauds*

I like that, too. It consolidates all that information for you, the company, the whole process of using a gift card, etc.
Sorry I was late on reading all this till I converted my points into a 4.99 gc to cover the difference, now I don't even know what to do with it lol. There's no way to find something that low with shipping included.
I completely understand why this was done. But yes, the way it is now definitely hinders things too because now I save one or two cards in a row to get something I've had my eye on or something but can't now unless I pay out of pocket. Which I would have no problem doing but couldn't. It stinks that people felt they needed to push a great system like that and ruin things for others.

First, I know I am sooo late on reading this important thread. But thankfully Lummox linked me and I'm reading through it, albeit slowly.

Second - Holy double dong, batman!!! Someone was doing what? Can we throw rotten fruit at them? But seriously, isn't there some criminal suit possibly in there somewhere??? I hate bad apples.

Thirdly - so much ditto to BBW here. I mean, the issue could already be fixed for all I know since there are about a dozen pages of this thread and I'm only on the bottom of page 3 right now. But the staffers are doing pretty awesome at investigating the issue, controlling the temporary change, advising the community, and listening to feedback for possible new systems. So I'm not too worried about it at this point. To get the perks I get from Eden (plus the friendship and fun!), I'm all chilled out with patience galore... with my Soraya.

I understand this fully. Id say a solution would be to make two separate gift card systems. The online gift cards generated by points would have a limit of one use per order from the same account. The hard plastic gift cards would have slightly different codes that allowed for multiple cards to be entered in.

Just my 2 cents!

I in all honesty think this is fantastic and wouldn't mind in the least if it stayed that way.

I understand that some people do lend out points and that this change will make it impossible to do so but honestly it's a small price to pay to keep the points system going especially if its temporary

Are the points for Sexis articles another thing that's being changed or is there a glitch there?

I'm a little upset at this post. I work hard for my points with doing reviews and such. I have little bits and pieces of gift cards left, and I had cashed out one to get a toy. Now I can't save up like I was for the item I really wanted. Isn't there a way to limit how much gift card money can be used per order? Or put all points into points in your account instead of gift cards, that way you can use points from all gift cards?

As noted in the rest of the thread, the gift card lock is a temporary thing. This means that once the change goes into effect that you can only spend points on the account they were earned on you can also stack gift cards that were earned other ways that have leftover balances.

Read the entire thread next time, they've made it so as long as the giftcards that were created via points are from YOUR account, you can use as many cards as you wish. It's just you no longer can use point-created giftcards from OTHER accounts besides your own (physical cards/codes are exempt of course if someone gifts you one of those).

After reading the last few replies, I now owe Rachel an apology for sending her a message asking about a refund paid with a giftcard. Now, I see that I will be able to use them so long as they are from my own account. Sweet! *wipes sweat away*

And as far as the gifting points to others, I suppose one would have to make sure to use electronic gift cards issued by Eden instead of generating a card from their points bank.

I had no idea in the first place that you could have more than one account and then use the points for another. I would of thought there was a rule to it already huh. $5000 orders are crazy, maybe there should be some kind of rule where if the order is over say $150 you should have to put in credit card information even if paying with points and gift cards. That way you have a way to get a hold of these people, of course they will most likely use someone else's card, but it is an idea.

Hey guys! Good news!-

Gift cards have just been UPDATED!

Now, we have a new, funky fresh system in the process of programming, where checkout will have a 'bank' of points that can be used towards purchases, doing away with points gift cards altogether; but in the mean time, this is what we have set up:

Regular gift cards, like those we hand out for video reviews, contests, etc. can be stacked. Edenpoints gift card can also be stacked, but you must be logged in to your account. The Edenpoints gift card must also belong to the account making the purchase.

If you are not logged in, and try to use an Edenpoints gift card, a popup will appear: Please LOG IN to apply any Gift Cards generated from the Edenpoints Program.

If you use an Edenpoints gift card from an account other than the one currently logged in, a pop up will appear: This Edenpoints Gift Card is not associated with your account and will not be applied.

Rachel and I are super excited about this new fix. While bigger and better things are on the way, this is a much better solution for you, and a less fraud-susceptible system for us. We want to thank you guys for your support, as well as your patience while we dusted off the boxing gloves.

I know you guys still have questions about 'gifting' points to your students, and as soon as we have an answer about how we can or cannot facilitate that, we'll let you know!

Thank you so much for everything you do! And thank you for being willing to keep the Edenpoints system intact, even though the easiest thing to do would have been to abolish the whole thing altogether. I feel very fortunate to be here! I look forward to seeing what bigger and better things you have in store for us!
