I just read the first review that is posted on a blog. It's a wonderful written review, but I don't get it. It seems like there is more benefit to the blog writer, and less to Eden.
Once I leave a site, especially to go to a blog. I'm more inclined to browse in different directions.
The other question I have is can anyone participate in this fashion or is this for particular reviewers or particular reviews?
The goal of the Off-Site Review Program is not exposure for the sake of marketing; it’s really about increasing collaboration with bloggers and our community. We want experienced contributors to have the option of reviewing on both our site and their own; and be allowed more creative freedom to add videos, photos, or additional content. Of course we may see the readers of those blogs clicking over to Eden Fantasys to see for themselves but we know that traffic from blogs leads in all directions – so we’re not worried about it always leading directly back to us. We do not ask for redundant plugs in the off-site reviews as we already have a direct permanent link to them on our site. We simply require one mention of our site name and for the toy’s name to be hyper linked to our product page for that item as well as the use of the supplied customized widget whenever possible.
Participation is handled in several ways: either we reach out to someone whose blog we find compelling or we are contacted with a request to participate. Lastly this program is open to all our contributors when selecting an assignment. However it is closely watched and managed. It is important to realize that an established blog or site is required to participate. Afterward each request is carefully reviewed before being accepted. The quality of the off-site blog/website, the reviewer's previous history, and the product requested are all taken into account when considering assignment requests.
