Contributor rank model

Okay so relax, I'm not going to be the millionth person to ask how our user rank is determined. I've familiarized myself with the contributor rank rubric, but I'm still a little confused. I feel like I've been doing everything I should be but my rank has been static for quite some time.

A whopping 62% of my ranking is determined by writing reviews and average usefulness of those reviews. I have written two reviews in the past week that have gotten (so far) good ratings and still I remain at 5.8 in my rank. I understand that my rank is relative to how active other members other, but shouldn't I be going up at least .1 sooner or later? It seems strange to me.

If anyone can offer any help, I'd appreciate it

Chances are, you're right around the corner from that increase.

You can get a good idea of how high you are relative to other people in the contributor list (get there by clicking "all reviewers" on the community page, or other similar links). The higher your rank, it seems like the more time/effort it takes to change it.

Yeah, I'm on the fourth highest page for quality of reviews and the third highest page for activity on the forums.

I guess I'd be curious to see a model to breaks down how rank is determined in relation to other users on the site, etc. In other words the rubric up to view right now just tells me how valuable each EF activity is in relationship to other activities (for example, writing a review vs. having a popular review). It doesn't tell me how the rank is actually calculated. The percentages are ultimately meaningless unless I know how they are being used.

You were right I got that increase. I'm still curious about how the ranks are calculated; it's a bit vague right now.

I always figured it was sort of an average and never gave it much more thought than that. It doesn't pay to focus on it when it seems to stall especially when it will take longer the higher you get.
