No, as that might encourage some unscrupulous people to have multiple accounts and just send the points to one for use. What you *can do* is to buy items off of a member's wishlist and have those sent directly to the person. If the person is not a member, the best thing to do is to buy a gift card and mail it to them.

Can gift cards made with points be used to purchase physical gift cards, though? I was under the impression that they could not.

I have bought them with points in the past...three times, in fact. If they cannot now, it is a recent change.

Hmm.. I've never tried purchasing a gift card myself. This link seems to indicate that it shouldn't be possible to purchase gift cards with points, but it could be inaccurate.

I can't say. I would suggest giving it a try anyway. It has worked for me.
