#AskEden - Some Things Don't Make Sense...

Contributor: ViVix ViVix
So, I received a free t-shirt with one of my orders. It had a large (not repairable) hole in the back. Eden approved my return, let me print a free shipping label, send it back, and then didn't say another word to me (for a week). When I emailed them about it because it had been quite awhile, I was informed that they can't allow returns on free items because it would cost them too much. So....I already returned the item due to that information not being obvious and the return request having been approved. Does that make sense to anyone? Won't Eden still have to pay for the item because it arrived at their door and was signed for (as shown by tracking)?

I don't necessarily think of this as good customer service. I do appreciate the free items from Eden, but I packaged up a damaged item and returned it for no reason. No one contacted me, my return was apparently approved and given a free shipping label. This just seems like a waste of my time and their money.

Don't get me wrong...I love Eden. I appreciate their generosity. I just think that this was poorly handled. I didn't send it back on purpose to cost them money...I just genuinely believed a free item is actually not free if you must buy something to get it and should therefore be returnable if obviously damaged by the company. The least I would have expected is to be notified that it couldn't be returned or that I wouldn't be getting a new shirt without having to contact them to figure out what happened.

So, to sum it all up...
I've wasted my time yet again just pondering the sense (or lack of) in this situation. Thanks for letting me rant!

send Jaimes an email and explain the situation in more detail and give them a chance to resolve the issue. Eden has always been accommodating.
