Would you rather find a pubic hair in your cereal or a really long spider leg?

Contributor: K101 K101
I HATE spiders! If I see one I get sick to my stomach and panic! I've had anxiety attacks a few times upon seeing a wolf spider (or just a SUPER huge one). I'm telling you, nothing flips me out more than spiders! Sometimes I can't even say the word, but have to spell it instead!

So, I was eating cereal earlier and I really wanted it and after a couple of bites I saw something long and black in there! I picked it out and realized it looked way too much like a really long spider leg or either a long hair. It wasn't my hair color so I started praying it was a hair... any hair as long as it ain't a spider leg! Then I thought holy F! I'd rather find a dang pubic hair in my food than a spider leg! Lol.

Which would gross you out more, spider leg or pubic hair?

If you've ever had either (or something else terrible)in your food, feel free to tell your story!

Since I asked you guys to share any stories of finding terrible things in your food, I thought I'd tell you my worst!

When I was really young we had a party at a friends house and were eating cake. She cut me a huge piece and it dropped right on the floor. I told her I'd just eat it so she wouldn't have to throw such a huge piece away. She said they just cleaned the floor so I was safe...

Until I bit into something hard and spit it out in my hand. It was a damn toe nail! Not just a toe nail, but a BIG one! It was about the size of my own thumb nail! I was freaking out and she told me her dad had been clipping his toe nails in the kitchen the night before! EEEEWWWW! I'll never forget that one!

Neither! Thank goodness none of that has ever happened to me. I did find a short strand of normal hair on a few occasions, since the food was thoroughly cooked and piping hot, all I did was picked it out and continued eating.

At least I know about where the spider has been. Not too cool with the pubic hair. Whose? Where has it been?? Why the HELL is it in my cereal???

I picked the last choice because, although I'd rather find a pubic hair, I don't hate spiders.......well, as long as it was MY pubic hair (no, I don't know how my pubic hair would get in there).

If I knew who OWNED the pubic hair, it might not be so bad....but then again, no one around here has any to lose!!!!

I once found something that looked like cow hair (short and thick) in some All Bran cereals. Pretty disgusting.

I meant to vote "don't make me choose." I hate spiders, and pubic hair is just nasty.

I hate when you find stems in cans of vegetables. Those are the worse.

Haha I don't know how to choose between a spider leg and a pube. I think I'd be totally freaked out by either, and the entire cereal box would be thrown away. Ewwww, I haven't eaten breakfast yet and I was going to have cereal. I think I'll have eggs and toast instead, lol.

There are already spider legs in your cereal. The public hair would be absolutely nasty and I would never eat that again.

I say both. Either one is nasty.

I do not like spiders. I gag when I see them. We had so many spiders around and in our house this summer and in the winter they move inside. I saw a HUGE one on a blanket in the basement that I had recently taken out of the dryer. It was just sitting there looking at me, all crouched over. I will never use that blanket again (good thing it was an old raggy one) because I would never be able to get the idea of that spider still being on it out of my head.

We grow a lot of our own food. Once, I had picked some lettuce and we put it on sandwiches. I had seen some caterpillars around earlier and I jokingly said to my husband, "Don't eat any caterpillars with your lettuce." Just from chance I opened my sandwich and turned over the lettuce and on the bottom of the lettuce (and this lettuce had been washed already) was a HUGE green caterpillar, the same exact color as the lettuce. If I hadn't turned over that leaf...... UGHGHGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHGH GH!!!! It was as big as one of my fingers. Ug. I almost threw up talking about this. What if I had.... (GAG) bitten into it? I would have never been able to eat lettuce again.

I can tell you, I always examine my lettuce carefully since that adventure.

I VOTED WRONG. I would rather NOT find a spider leg. I was focused on.... spiders and couldn't get them out of my mind.

Thanks. Now, I'm all itchy.

I would rather find a pubie than a spider leg. Pubies don't bite!

Oh great! I decided to do some searching on insects being in food and let me just say. BAD IDEA! I wish I never knew what I know now! I read a list of the things the FDA allows in food! YUCK! Of course it's has to be under a certain amount, but there's things like rodents, rodent hair, roaches, feces, insects, etc. Beck was right! How will I ever eat again without thinking of this stuff! Lol. I think P'gell has the right idea by growing her own food. At least then you'd know more of what was in it! My goodness, I'd rather eat a rodent hair than spider parts! Heck, I'd eat a bumble bee first!

I made my vote purely because the likelihood of actually finding pubic hair in your cereal is pretty slim to none. The most you'd probably find is arm hair or something, or off someone's head, which is far less jarring, me thinks, that finding actual bugs in your cereal. I highly doubt the person working in the facility processing cereal would want their junk hanging out around all the machinery, just saying. That and if it's the fault of someone you know, by all means, why would you know someone who could get pubic hair in cereal? Someone has an awkward fetish to share, lol.

Finding bugs are the worst though. I found a small infestation of beatles living inside a box of cereal, which I was reminded of because of your thread, ha ha. It's a terrible experience to not even realize they are curled up in there and you notice them after you have taken a bite. EWW! I was lucky to not have any crawling in my mouth after I screeched and dumped the bowl into the sink. I ran to the refrigerator and grabbed the nearest beverage to rinse my mouth out. For the rest of the day, I was pretty over sensitive to everything. Now every time I am in the mood for cereal, I make sure nothing is crawling in there... *shudders*

if it's a hair, it's mine, big whoop. if it's a spider leg i have to gargle a bottle of mouth wash, after brushing my teeth. until the battery dies. and then never eat cereal again.

I don't want either, but would take the pubic hair over a spider - ANY DAY!
Spiders freak me out. We have massive ones that come in every now and then in summer. They don't last long, but everyone in the house knows when ones is around. I won't take my eyes off it until it's dead..... even if I have to sit there and watch it for 30mins or so after using a can of spray on it.
Then someone else has to remove the body. Even though it's dead, I am NOT going anywhere near that thing!
