I just commented on the scene from the Exorcist, and this scene is the same. It gave you the creeps, burned itself into your mind forever, and will visit your nightmares.

Gary is a huge horror fan and he couldn't resist throwing in his favorite Japanese Gore films. How gory do you like your horror flicks? Does it make a difference if the event depicted had a chance of happening in real life?

Fortunately I was able to find images for G's fav Japanese flicks that wouldn't send you running to the toilet. Some of it is so hardcore I just sat there and stared for fifteen minutes.

The original was Ringu, it was Japanese. It was then remade into the movie 'The Ring' in the US. The Grudge was another to come out at this time, that was a remake of the Japanese movie called Ju-on.

I have never watched a Japanese Horror flick. I don't like my flicks to be too gory. I prefer psychological torture over blood and gore.

I have one "hard limit" for horror movies, and its torture. I know, kinda limiting, but things like Saw steamroll right over fear for me and go straight to dizziness and vomiting.

Very interesting, I didn't know that. I've watched the ring and the grudge but had no idea they originated in Japan.

I HATE Hostel. I think it was #2 that I had seen. I only watched it until this one really disturbing part that I'll never forget. I had to turn it off. It was too messed up for me!

No, but I remember when my stepbrother went to see it. He said he was disturbed because he was trying to not get aroused. apparently there were sex scenes uncomfortably combined with the torture? I have a term for the situation that my beau and I are trying to circulate. "Fear Boner"

It's pretty wicked shit. I can't stomach it and I'm a pretty big fan of stuff like that. They're totally right when they say it's torture porn.

It was specifically designed to cause that reaction. Which is a lot of people rallied to have it banned. Saying it incited the worst in people.

Maybe it's because I didn't watch very much of it but I can say I did not find it exciting at all!
