And remember the scene with the blood ... more
That's dedication, or being a perfectionist. Either way, it turned out epic.

Agreed. He was extremely difficult to work with, as rumor has it. The only one more difficult than Kubrick was Hitchcock.

The first American horror “movie” was produced by Thomas Edison, it was 18 seconds in length and depicted a woman being beheaded. This was in 1895. Longer films didn’t begin to appear until later in the early 1900’s.

The Shining is a dark comedy to me. I laugh when I watch it. Does that make me psychotic?

Right? Given the lack of special effects one has to wonder if it wasn't a true-blue snuff film.

Alright last blurb and then we'll move on to the questions!

Originally, Freddy Krueger’s shirt was to be red and yellow. Wes Craven stumbled across an article that said the two most contrasting colors to the human eye were red and green and thus the change was made. Did anyone else remember Freddy’s sweater as being red and black?

I have a few things on VHS. War of the Roses being one of them. I was working at Blockbuster when they switched from VHS to DVD so I was able to snap up a few classics.
