Valentine's Day. Either you love it, or you don't but we've all gone through the rituals of this day at least once. We covered good Vday memories last week, so let's move on to the worst Valentine's Day you've ever had. Were you stood up? Not able to make the plans you wanted in the first place? Something else?

Worst was back in 2011. I met a guy on OKCupid a few weeks before and we hit it off pretty well, then friended on Facebook. We had a date a week before V-day which was incredibly great, and we agreed to see each other again ...

Complete silence from him the following week, no response to my calls.

Defriending on Valentine's Day without explanation.

I deleted my account on OKCupid that evening. Then bought a shitload of discounted chocolate for the next two weeks.

The worst I can think of now is breaking up with my boyfriend. Ironically, my partner's birthday falls on V-day.

All the Valentine's Days I had before I met my boyfriend. I can't even imagine life without him now. I remember that Valentine's Day was always lonely and depressing.

My then-boyfriend had the flu and was throwing up all day. I spent the day with him and tried to make him feel better, but he had to sleep it off and I ended up eating the candy I got for him.

Worst Valentines Day ever.... Without dating myself I have to ask... Which one?

One Valentines Day, was my court appearance for a divorce.

Another, my dog given to me by my sexiest and best male FWB, died.

The Creme de le Creme, Valentines date night + Ice + Curb + 6 inch heels = Me in the hospital with a torn dress, broken strap on my favorite shoes and a broken wrist.

Needless to say, I enjoy Valentines at home in the safety of some bunny slippers and takeaway.

My worst was in high school. Seeing my ex girl friend, (and future wife) on a date even though I was still in love with her. But now we are together, things have a way of working out.

Worst one I ever had was the V-day after my first boyfriend broke up with me. I always hated being alone and then there I was, alone again after 6 years! It sucked

My V-days haven't been too bad, except for last year. I don't ask for much; just wish me a "Happy Valentine's" and maybe give me a hug. That was totally ignored. Plus, later that year, I didn't even get a "Happy Birthday". He forgot...

I have to admit I havne't had that many bad ones. I don't go out expecting much... Hubby has never been the gift/celebration type (I buy my own birthday gifts and christmas gifts etc... it works for us). But when we were exepcting our first child I remember having to cancel dinner because my first appt with my OB/GYN was on Valentines day, and I got lost downtown, and missed dinner(I hate downtown and the busses... yuck).

So my last FIVE or so Valentine Days have been crappy! A) It seems like every time this day comes around, me & the beau are broken up or whatnot. B) OR worse, I don't have a beau... like now, and last year. Wonderful life isn't it?... =(

3 years ago I was violently ill for valentines and my Anniversary. Of course, that was when we had great plans to stay at the Castle Marne in Downtown Denver. They were great and let us reschedule.

My first valentines day that I celebrated was with my ex. I traveled 50 miles to get special diabetic versions of his favorite candy (he had just been diagnosed). I made a collage of photos of us together and gave him the first "I love you" I had ever muttered to a significant other.
His reply? "we need to break up.. I've been having an affair with your best friend for 3 months. sorry, babe."

I guess.

I've been broken hearted on V day before, but I don't think it's because I was ever stood up. I just felt alone and unwanted.

I've never had a Valentine.

Once, I spent Valentines very confused when I thought my crush gave me a Valentine and everyone kept saying he didn't, then later I found out he really did. Idk, I spent the whole day thinking maybe I wanted it so much I just imagined it

I honestly can't remember a Valentine's Day that has gone that badly. We usually don't plan anything to major so there's little chance of things going bad. As long as we're together that's enough for us.

My worst is probably that I don't have any memories, I've never liked the holiday, I'm not a 'cuddly/lovey' type person so my B-friends never tried anything, admittedly I would've liked them to have tried something special, but you get what you ask for-or in this case don't ask for. Single now so it's kind of a melancholy feeling seeing all of the hype-even the cheezy stuff...

I can't say I can ever remember having a bad Valentine's Day. I've had those I was alone when I was single, but they weren't bad. In the last 20 years I've been with my wife and all of those days were wonderful.

My worst Valentine's Day was when I was a teen. My boyfriend at the time had came to visit and brought me a rose, and teddy bear. He then said he doesn't think we should see each other anymore, but since he already had the gifts picked up, he thought he'd give them to me anyways.

My worst Valentine's Day was the year I found out I was pregnant, the abortion was six days before the 14th. I was confused, devastated, and really turned-off by the idea of relationships, sex, and romance altogether. I'll never forget that year. I have had many more wonderful days and holidays since then and while it is a distant memory as far as pain goes, it's definitely one of those "life-changing" moments.
