#Announcement - Edenfantasys Product Selection

Regarding the posts asking for product discontinuation warnings, what about adding a function to product pages that shows "only _ left in stock" when it gets below a certain number, so people know how to prioritize their purchases? Would that be doable, perchance?

It comes down to page loading and people.

If the page loads slow, the number could be off. Accurate counting ultimately comes down to people. People can get really busy.

It's best not to have specifics in this particular case.

I don't know if this is a board for taking suggestions, but with the new direction for quality: I think you guys should stop stocking jelly stuff.
It's a really crappy material and the majority of people with sex toy knowledge will usually pass up on it. It's good because the stuff is cheaper and beginners like cheap and easy stuff, but the majority of seasoned customers will probably opt for a safer and easier to clean material. Everyone speaks negatively of jelly. I think some of the cyberskin dildos with unsafe materials are at least a bit better because people enjoy the feel of them? Just putting in my 2 cents, I'm ok if you want to ignore all that!

How about a variation on that theme - would there be any way to have a page where 'Back In Stock' items can be found? We already have some alerts set for specific things, but if we could see items that have just come back in stock we might be more inclined to buy something we hadn't considered before

Maybe in the future, but there are bigger changes that need to be made at this time. Once those are in place the details will come together and suggestions like this can be considered.

I am curious about the status of some items.
There are a number that I've been watching, that have been out of stock for a while now, but have not yet been marked as discontinued. Is there any plan to mark items as discontinued as soon as they ARE discontinued, or are the items that remain in the product catalog more likely to be restocked at some point?

This is really just curiosity on my part. I sometimes wonder what the status is on an item that's been out of stock for a long time, but has not officially been discontinued!

Love the work you guys do, Eden team Thanks for being awesome!

I was doing an AMA on Reddit and in trying to recommend specific items to people, I found that like literally half of the things I recommend, are currently out of stock. A good number of items that I thought were quality products are discontinued. This is really troubling to me, and is really hard for me to recommend items to people when the things I actually like and believe in are gone. =/

I agree. I'm a little concerned by the large amount of toys in unsafe materials flooding in while safe toys seem permanently out of stock.

Indeed! I, too, have been distressed at the number of things I wanted that have gone out of stock--and I don't just mean lingerie; I'm aware that that stuff is like clothing, seasonal and oft-rotated for the most part. One particular example that comes to mind is the Pipedream Metal Worx line. I wanted the Kegel balls, the Mr. Smooth, and a couple of others. I was planning to exchange the vibe I'd received, because on mine, the power button had to be pressed REALLY hard to work...but it was discontinued before I could exchange, and I loved everything else about it and got it for a great price, so I kept it. :/

oh, I so hope the lingerie selection expands to include corsets & bustiers that can be worn in public as well as being less pricy.

Agreed. If "we" were actually focused on bringing high quality sex toys to the masses, wouldn't "we" actually keep high quality sex toys in stock.

I second this 100%!

I also noticed that on some items, but not most, tell you when they expect it to be back in stock. Can we have it so all items say when they expect to be back in stock?

The thing is, Eden doesn't always know when an item is coming back.

Even with the items that have dates, I find that on the products that I watch, the dates are wrong more often than not. It's really hard for Eden to control things like that, I think (I mean, I can think of a half a dozen things that could go wrong), so I try to ignore whatever the restock dates are said to be anyways. I find that they generally just set me up for disappointment.

I do see the "__ left in stock" feature on MANY other retail websites, so I know it's doable, and I don't think anyone would expect it to be up-to-the-second accurate, since we all know an item will show as in stock even when it's in someone's cart, and possibly even until it's shipped out.

I would love back-in-stock dates too, but it sounds like they're less reliable. :/

The back in stock dates can be helpful, but I have seen the dates come and go without the item ever coming back in stock. I have also seen items come back in stock and sell out again almost immediately. I have learned to grab the high priority items from my wish list as soon as they come back in stock.

The issue I've been having with stock is this: I'll find a toy I like and want to buy. I wait for a bit, watching it, waiting to see if a date shows up. After a while, I'll ask if there is an ETA. A lot of the time, the answer I get back is along the lines of, "Oh, we don't even have that on order. We may order it soon, but we don't know for sure." Sometimes I'm told to "just set an alert." Then another couple of weeks go by. Sometimes it gets ordered, sometimes it doesn't. It can't be a problem with the manufacturer if it isn't even ordered when I ask...can it? This issue has made it kind of hard to shop recently. I don't want to settle for a toy that I wanted less. I want the toy that I wanted. I don't want to wait 3 or 6 months or longer for it. By that time, I've been waiting so long that I have enough points to buy it outright. I'm sure I'm not the only one and that can't be good for EF's pocketbook.

I, as a consumer--not a reviewer, not a community member, not as an editor, but as a consumer--am a little frustrated. So many toys that are in stock lately I have no interest in, and most of what I want is gone. I did some quick searches on manufacturers that I like on EF, and found that much is missing. This is not meant to be a slight against anyone in the community, but it has made shopping so difficult that I've been looking elsewhere recently. I'm hoping it will get better.

I think a lot of us have been having similar problems. It's especially frustrating when a long-awaited item comes back into stock, and then when you go to place your order that same day, it's already sold out again. This, to me, says that only very small quantities are being ordered at one time.

Ouch, I wish there was a criteria on what's being weeded out. I hope its not any of the BDSM stuff since there isn't much of that already. I also hope there is still price diversity since not everyone can afford a 80 vibrator.

I know how you feel. I'm trying to wait it out. If it doesn't get better by the end of summer I'm must taking a big order, fully of points, and never looking back.

While you are making all these changes. Why don't you include a better selection of plus size Lingerie. In fact the last time I was here, you had more than you have now. Even though I am not a 3x or 4x in my average size. I always have to go up when it comes to Lingerie. You never have enough to choose from.
