The issue I've been having with stock is this: I'll find a toy I like and want to buy. I wait for a bit, watching it, waiting to see if a date shows up. After a while, I'll ask if there is an ETA. A lot of the time, the answer I get back is along the lines of, "Oh, we don't even have that on order. We may
order it soon, but we don't know for sure." Sometimes I'm told to "just set an alert." Then another couple of weeks go by. Sometimes it gets ordered, sometimes it doesn't. It can't be a problem with the manufacturer if it isn't even ordered when I ask...can it? This issue has made it kind of hard to shop recently. I don't want to settle for a toy that I wanted less. I want the toy that I wanted. I don't want to wait 3 or 6 months or longer
for it. By that time, I've been waiting so long that I have enough points to buy it outright. I'm sure I'm not the only one and that can't be good for EF's pocketbook.
I, as a consumer--not a reviewer, not a community member, not as an editor, but as a consumer--am a little frustrated. So many toys that are in stock lately I have no interest in, and most of what I want is gone. I did some quick searches on manufacturers that I like on EF, and found that much is missing. This is not meant to be a slight against anyone in the community, but it has made shopping so difficult that I've been looking elsewhere recently. I'm hoping it will get better.
