I know, we're all supposed to read the product specs before we buy; check the 1:1 picture, read the reviews. I do all of that, most of the time--but sometimes, even when I do, it comes in the mail and I'm all like, "Daaaaaaaaaamn. I thought it would be bigger." Or sometimes I thought it would be smaller and I'm all like, "Daaaaaaaaaamn. I thought it would be smaller."


So, does this happen to you, too, or is it just me?


IMPORTANT NOTE: This is referring only to items purchased online; I don't want to hear any stories about disappointing/overwhel ming lovers, this is ONLY about items. Doesn't have to be EdenSpecific, though I'd love to hear all of your amusing Eden anecdotes.

All the time!! I'm terrible about this. I try to eyeball from the product photos a lot which never works out well. Sometimes even when I do all the research, I still get it and am shocked by the size one way or another.

No matter how many times I look at the comparisons and the descriptions I'm still surprised when something arrives and it's smaller/bigger than I thought it would be.

I've definitely done this. This is why I like it when people do size comparisons on their reviews. It helps me understand the size better.

I've done this before. MiMi was the one that made me say holy shit. I read every review and checked out all the pictures and was still shocked at how tiny she was!

Yeaa i've done this before. Mostly they've been smaller than I thought. Only once was it bigger than I thought. Thats another reason why I like video reviews, it's easier to see the size like that.

It happens mostly with glass pieces oddly enough. No idea why.

Definitely had this happen on more than one occasion. The Plug of Lust small is the first one I can think of where I remember getting it and thinking it would have been bigger. Same with this little flogger I have. The Sex in the Shower hand grip thing I thought would be smaller than it actually is.

Both have happened to me. And in both cases I thought, Well, I'm the dick who didn't pay attention. However, ultimately, I've enjoyed pretty much everything, even if they weren't exactly what I was expecting.

I often read reviews and look at the size descriptions on the Product Page, so usually I'm not surprised by the size of an item. The only items I'm continually surprised by the size are the cosmetics, creams etc. The bottles are almost always smaller than I thought.

I did think the Adam O2 dildo would be bigger, but as I won it in a contest, I didn't check the stats before it came in the mail. But, that's one of the few I can think of.

All the time. I read how big they are and look at pictures but almost everytime I open up the box it's the not size I was expecting. Like the Fou I just got, read everything and though "Oh I know exactly how big this will be." Got it and it's super tiny. I still like it though.

One of my earliest sex toys was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, largely because the site I purchased it from very seldom gave specs or offered life-sized pictures. That toy never got used (it was jelly, so no big loss).

From Eden, the Silk Large was bigger than I thought it would be. Even checking the measurements, looking at the 1:1 picture, and seeing some videos where it was compared to the other Silks, I still somehow thought it would only be a small step up from the Medium. Wishful thinking, I guess. Since it was pretty firm silicone and had an awkward, broad head, it was painful to use and I only attempted it once or twice before re-homing it.
