How are sale items decided?

Contributor: kck kck
This is a general question open to everyone in the Community, but probably better answered by the staff at EF. I'm just wondering, what's the criteria for something to go on sale? I'm not really talking about holiday sales and promotions, but rather discounts on the products themselves. For example, does review feedback affect the price of the toy? Is something that has negative reviews more likely to be discounted or discontinued? Does the price have a "shelf life"?

Just curious

Erm, I guess I should clarify this: I mean the price offered by EF.

I've been curious as well, since I did a descriptive review on an item that was on sale at quite a bit off only a few weeks after we started carrying it.

Yeah, kinda the same situation here. The Sphere's almost 50% off now, after 3 reviews within less than a month time frame.

Well... I can't speak for EF, but usually sales are determined by either the manufacturer who offers products to stores below thier normal wholesale price or by the store who is attempting to deplete some of their inventory.
This doesn't always mean they won't be carrying something anymore, sometimes they might just want room for other products or for people to try something hoping it will boost sales. Think of how many times you place an order for a toy and end up buying a bottle of lube or a toy pouch "since you're already ordering"

First of all, thank you everybody for your questions and posts!
EdenFantasys is a complex store with lots of products, partners and, of course, customers hence there is no one consistent reason for each item that goes on sale.
Each sale serves different purposes and is oriented toward different demographics.
There are many things that affect items: manufacturer’s specials, item promotions, items that go slow with current price, competitor’s prices, warehouse situation and many others.
Negative review might affect how fast item sells, but not necessarily and is not the general reason for sale. Usually we try not to carry items with only bad reviews at all, although mistakes happen sometimes.
Of course Labor Day is a traditional day for Discounts and Sales across the country - you can find even new products, such as Sphere, on Labor Day Sale.
I hope I answered your questions at least partially. Please let me know if you have more questions!
Regardless the reasons – we hope you enjoy sales and promotions we run!

You answered most of what I had, I just get more curious about the rhyme and reason behind things. Either way, I definitely do enjoy them

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, Rufina! I really appreciate it I had no idea so many factors went into determining (sale) price! The post was mainly just because I was curious, so yes you answered all of my questions! Thanks again
