"EF should change the status of those with no activity (reviews or otherwise) to "Inactive" after 6 months of inactivity."

Read above... it was suggested as part of the poll.

Regardless, they could simply send an email to Eden about their condition. Eden is very good about those things, they wouldn't make a hassle.

Hey I really like this site but I'm going to be out of the country for 6 months so I was
wondering what I should do to either suspend my profile or become inactive. Please let me know!
Thanks!

Go into your Public Profile, and Click the pink link for ‘See your Public Profile’– then next to your photo on the upper left, is a green word bubble and your current quote, click the word ‘Change’ that is next to the bubble and your quote. You will see two radio buttons: ‘Active’ and ‘Not Active’ – you can mark yourself as Not Active, and change your message to be an away message of your choice.

Is it ridiculous to change a status for a few weeks? I know I won't be on much around the end of the semester due to finals and papers and projects. Or do people feel that doing something like that seems a waste for just a few weeks?

I've only used mine once. I don't even know what it looks like when someone uses it so I don't really find it useful. I guess I just don't really care either way.

I think Eden should change your status after a period of inactivity, but you should be able to change it yourself if you know you'll be unable to contribute for a little while.

I don't see anything wrong with allowing users to change that as their status. That could be helpful for those who plan to take a break.

I think allowing people to set their own "inactive" status is a good idea.

I don't really know if I like the idea. Would it hurt the reviewer?

As long as you could set it yourself, yes. It sounds like a good idea.

Sounds like a good idea. My dad and brother do programming and they said it'd be a bitch but it's doable. I applaud all of our site moderators and programmers for all their hard work.

I think we should definately be in control of our own statuses.

I'd support this! If they are inactive for 6 months, I feel that they are no longer part of the site.

Oops, hit the enter button too soon.

I also think that there should be a good amount of time that has to lapse before they go inactive. Like you said, it definitely happens where "life happens" and things have to be put on hold with EF. I know that if that ever happened for my wife, she would probably go apeshit LMAO, But it happens. Maybe have a "Idle" status for those that are going to be gone/away or not active for 0-6 months and then have the Inactive status be after 6 months?

Idle, Haitus, On Break, On Vacation something like that?

I completely agree here.

Changing your own status to inactive would be best I think, I'd rather do it than have someone do it for me.

Having the option to change to inactive is a good idea. I'm not sure about EF changing after 6 months, I'd feel something like 9 months to a year, but that's just me.

I agree with it and I think that Eden should change the status of an account that has been un-used for a certain amount of time.

It's not a bad idea at all, but I definitely agree people should be able to freely change the status themnselves at their own liesure.

I don't know what it would help (or hurt) to know if someone is inactive. I mean, reviews are reviews and helpful no matter if the person is on the site or not.
