Should we have non-latex dental/sex dams for sale on the site?

Contributor: GonetoLovehoney GonetoLovehoney
I've been looking around for dental/sex dams to purchase for quite some time and would love it if Eden carried them. The dam I'm speaking of is: Hot Dam.

It's annoying how expensive these are, for just a piece of polyurethane.

That is an amazing suggestion. There's a forum dedicated to what Eden should carry somewhere....these should be on that list!

I want some more variety in the dams. It's sad they only have a latex dam and only the mint flavour available. They need stuff for people with latex allergies too.

Yeah, I forgot where it's located, but if I can find it I'll add it to the suggestions. We need this option for safe sex!

Absolutely! I haven't looked that closely to Eden's selection of condoms/dental dams, but I'm surprised that they don't already carry latex-free. What's the deal? Lots of people have a latex allergy. Eden should carry them.

Yes, definitely. Safety is important.

Bumping this up so someone from Eden can hopefully see this. I would buy a fuckton off here if they carried some. My local woman-catering sex shop carries these for $1.50 each sheet and only single packets are available, they're so much better than shitty vinyl gloves and bigger than a non-latex condom cut open.

Anybody else think it's weird that condoms are practically mandatory in social acceptable sex, but half of the population doesn't even know what a dental dam is.

It is a bit odd, even my old gynecologist didn't know what one was or that there are non-latex varieties out there.

Bump, this needs to be heard. I must try and get these on the site since it's so damned hard to find them offline.

Just as has happened in the medical/hospital environment...with all the latex allergy and sensitivity out there, ANY "LATEX" product should really be replaced with some other material. There is little call for ANYTHING latex in this day and age.

We haven't either, but there is no reason to expose your oral and genital tissues to latex, when there are many great, non allergenic alternatives.

A GYN never heard of a "dental dam"? That, my friend, is scary. That area of the body...and it's use, is what he/she gets PAID to know about!!!!

Is a "Fuckton" more or less then a "metric ton"? Probably important to know for shipping purposes.

Saaaaaaaaaaaaame.

Side note/horror story: My gyno basically said I didn't need to use any kind of protection since I'm primarily having sex with people who have vaginas. Like, this person has a medical degree and is supposed to be helping her patients make informed decisions about their sexual health, and she said I didn't have anything to worry about since my chance of contracting "serious" STIs is relatively low. She said she had heard of dental dams but never knew of anyone who actually used them. WHAT THE FUCK.

Those that do NOT have "latex allergy", but LATEX sensitivity are the big set up's. It can take 20 years of continued exposure to latex products for a SENSITIVITY to develop into an allergy...and at that point, it is a HUGE pain. You react to everything from underwear bands to seat belts and a million other "hidden" sources of latex exposure.

They do carry a dental dam on this site.... but it's made of latex.

I would still want a non-latex variety on here or even the large SKYN brand of condoms. (they have the regular one on here in a 3 pack)

I have no use for a dental dam but I think Eden should carry more (or any, for that matter) non-latex dental dams AND condoms.

Word. I have been able to find them at community health clinics but I have never seen them for sale outside of the internet. Is it too much to ask for some dental dams (both latex-free and regular) that are as cheap and widely available as condoms are?

Eden needs more safe-sex items in general. I'm all for this.

I don't find it weird that a majority of people don't know what a dental dam is...I'd rather people know about as many forms of protection as possible...it's not really their fault that dental dams are kinda skipped over in sex ed (my sex ed teacher mentioned them but condoms and pills were the mail focus).
