There really is no clear cut way to raise it as it involves doing a bit of everything. Writing reviews, usefulness of your reviews, rating reviews, commenting on reviews, posting on the forums etc etc...All of it adds to your rank. It also depends on what other contributors are doing on any given day.

Really, it is a bit confusing to me. So I just do my part and not worry to much about it.

Also, how people vote on your reviews can affect your rank, so if you're really concerned about raising your rank then you'll want to write the best reviews you can. Personally, I've never really worried about mine. Let me clarify that by saying I don't worry about my rank, not my reviews. I write mine as well as I can. lol

i have noticed that my ranking goes up the better my reviews are and the better rated they are.

When I first joined I was concerned about the ranking but eventually learnt to just let it happen cause I was very active too.

I have found the main thing that puts my ranking up is writing reviews that get at least useful. At one stage it seemed to jump up everytime I submitted a review but that doesn't continue .. or at least didn't for me. There's times where my rank stays the same for a couple of reviews (even though I'm still just as active throughout the site).

For me now - it happens when it happens. But that's easy to say once ya reach 5+.

Well put..Just participate and have fun. I try to log in every day, post a few forum items, rate some reviews, etc..but I only write reviews 2 - 3 times a month.

You're not doing too badly for only 5 reviews. Also, using the Extended Template and joining the Mentor Program is a good way to get good ratings on your reviews.

There is a breakdown somewhere on where the ratings come from, and they are also related to how every body else is doing.

I know I have written reviews and gotten nothing but "Extremely Useful" ratings on them and it didn't raise my rating one decimal. Other times, one review would do it, but usually not more than one or two decimal.

Log on every day, participate in the forums, write great reviews and join the Mentor Program. Even with all those efforts it takes some time to raise ratings.

In the meantime, enjoy EdenFantasys.

Here are the exact words on how the rating works.

Contributor Ranking: breakdown and logic
The rating system is determined by the combination of two factors: activity and popularity.
Activity Factor = 42%

* Writing reviews (28%)
* Writing follow-up reviews (4%)
* Answering questions on your reviews (2%)
* Posting comments on the reviews of other contributors (2%)
* Creating new discussions (2%)
* Making posts in discussions (2%)
* Time in community (2%)

Review activity reflects the ratio between the number of your reviews relative to the average maximum of reviews between the top contributors. Verified reviews count exactly as much as unverified reviews. There are no limits on the number of reviews and follow-up reviews.
Only the past 360 days of activity is considered in Activity Factor.
Popularity Factor = 58%

* Average review usefulness determined by votes (34%)
* Average editorial vote (4%)
* Number of comments on your reviews (9%)
* Number of ratings on your reviews (9%)
* Number of discussion posts from other contributors on the discussions created by you (2%)

We consider voting on your own reviews an inappropriate practice. The reviews should be evaluated by other people, not by the author of the review.
These factors are calculated daily, and in comparison to other reviewers (which is why your rating might change even if you haven't done anything).
There are several ways to boost your rating, like writing more reviews, follow-ups, commenting on others' reviews and posting on the forum.
