If the student has reviews needing to be edited by them -- then... I'll give it 2 or 3 months. I wait longer in ... more
Thanks for the advice! I'll keep this in mind!

I appreciate the advice. I do send them reminder emails. I should probably include this info in the email that I send each person when I welcome them into my classes.

Seems like this solves some issues I've seen on the forums lately... And I'm totally okay with doing more work to prove my worth as a reviewer.

Maybe I'll be willing to mentor again.

Great changes, it's been a long time coming.

I've had several actually return and go on to bigger and better things. Sometimes you just have to have a bit of patience.

Hm...so now they can potentially write fewer reviews with mentors to gain advanced reviewer status than they have to write to be voted in? Sounds good. Five reviews would be better, but I can live with three.

Oh, just to mention...the comma after "upgrade" doesn't belong there.

Very good change. Seems like EF is taking strides to up the quality of reviews on the site. Looking forward to what else is in the works!

This sounds like a very positive change, but most of all I'm loving this:

Even though I haven't been here for that long, this is a great idea! Promoting community communication over just spamming some crappy reviews and getting an upgrade. (I still haven't been able to pick a mentor, and I've just gotten back after a long hiatus)

Oh sweeeeet! Just one question: do our students need to do 3 reviews in class now, or just 2 like they have been? And if it's 3, then does that apply to our current students?

Students working with a mentor need to complete two reviews; completing three reviews is a requirement for those wishing to bypass the mentor program and go up for vote (hopefully making the mentor process look more attractive).
