i for one was aiming to celebrate the day that the pink was gotten rid of... there's still a fair amount of it, but the site being so pink... it makes it so feminine, and appears to be geared alot towards women. i know we have a huge advantage over the men in the community, numbers-wise, at least.
but nah, i can dig this new style.
The site still feels too white to me. If they would like a less-girly color than pink, that's fine, but we need some shading around here. Many sites are moving towards a minimalist look — I think the reason is that the industry believes that in the future, most internet browsing will be done on smartphones and iPads — but
pure white is hard on the eyes.
I don't want EF to emulate anyone else, but that giant bookstore's website
is a great example of subtle shading.
