#EdenUpdate - New Homepage & Layout (do you like it?)

Contributor: RomanticGoth RomanticGoth
I love being able to see my points at the top. All this white is giving me a migraine, way too much glare here! I hope they change it so you can access your page by clicking on your icon next to your points instead of the dropdown. If they switched the "Play" and "Shop" into two bars on top of each other it would make things a little easier, maybe? Eh.. I have to take a break. This is too much for my head right now.

Dear EF, please make it less white?

Agreed, if nothing else, less white please. I'm deaf and don't wish to be blind too. (hooray for horrible joke~)

I have not looked around *too* much yet, but I am okay with the update. Sure, it will take a little while to find where everything is, but for me, this update is much more acceptable than Facebook's Timeline! Ack! That's something to complain about.

I absolutely LOVE having the running points total in the corner. No more having to go to the EdenPoints Program page to see what your balance is!

I like it! Except, from what I can tell you can't get back to the subforum you were browsing once you open up a thread. ):

I had to make the site smaller by using my secondary scroll. Others are having the same issues. I also meant to say 17.5" screen.

The normal amount. I don't do anything special in or out normally.

That's a good way to describe it.

Also it took me a hell of a lot more clicking to figure out what was promotional for facebook friends in terms of prices. I like the way the promotions were so easily seen before. I miss the scrolling promotions and announcements too. The way things are spaced at the top and sides of the pages is weird.

Someone actually did say something about it. I read something before I got to this later comment.

OMG the link things are gone to go back! I liked how you could see how you got to a certain place on the forum and the product pages.

I do, that's what I just wrote about. I don't like not having that. I don't want to have to press back on my browser. I should be able to do it in site.

Oh it is gorgeous! I love it so much It's so clean and everything is right there on the top, no need to venture to the right sidebar to find the forums.

Thanks, EF. Thanks EF Website Programmers..

I don't like that you have to switch either. Extra clicking is really unnecessary. ARG!

though some things are nice, the showing the eden points thing is neat.
Good point. It was much more original before. It looks like many websites now.

I was wondering, are there any advantages for you in implimenting the changes in layout? I think we all live between the tensions of wanting improvement and resisting change. Perhaps people will be more accepting if you explain the desired results here. Thanks for caring what we think!

One small thing I just noticed (which most people won't care about) is that the reviews on a specific product (like lingerie), don't have their titles bolded anymore. I really liked seeing bolded titles. I know it's a silly little thing but I just thought I'd mention it lol.

It would also be nice to see a little light or something next to your points when you have a new message. Like how it is next to your avatar when you're online.

I agree with this. It's not so bad when I'm viewing products, etc. but when I'm in a thread in the forum (like this one) there is so much white it does hurt my eyes a bit.

I agree! They either require scrolling, extra clicks, or are hard to find.

I forget who said it earlier, but the ability to get to our profiles by clicking on our avatar next to "My Eden" would be a plus.

Has anyone had a problem getting into their wish list? At one point I tried 3 or 4 times to get into mine and was unsuccessful. It's working now, but it just seems kind of iffy.

I felt like I was complaining a lot so went in search of finding things I like, but I ended up finding more things I don't.

I miss the bar at the top that said eden's name and then who the product was sponsored by and then the reviewers name after that.

I don't like how after you make a comment in the forum it jumps you all the way down to the bottom of the page, but not instead of being able to see the posts above yours, you see all this mumbo jumbo link stuff at the bottom.

I don't like how it doesn't line up correctly or neatly at the very top or bottom.

And i hate how much ridiculous space there is on the sides when you are reading a review! It doesn't fill the area like the top bar. That is so annoying and it makes the site look less professional and polished in my opinion.

Sadly, I'm finding more things I don't like. I really tried to come up with stuff I love! I have not given up the search lol
