Was the option to search for description reviews removed, because mine just disappeared?

I requested to have this option removed, and I will explain why...

Because the Description Review Program, and more specifically assigning Description Review Items, is of the highest priority it is the first order of business each day (or sometimes even late the night before). So as soon as an item becomes available an assignment is immediately made so the entire Description Review process can begin as soon as possible.

The problem with assigning an item right away is that until that assignment is accepted by the contributor and shipped, it is still available for assignment requests. Then once the assignment is accepted, all of the requests that were made after the item was assigned have to be declined.

So because of the way this works, almost all requests for a Description Review item get declined; like the upper ninetieth percentile. I thought that having the option to request something that has most likely already been assigned, and is not available, was just unnecessary and possibly even discouraging.

I am very happy about the progress we have made in refining our Description Review Program, and I am even happier about the amazing job you all have been doing. I hope this decision to remove the request option makes sense to everyone, and I will be happy to answer more questions about this particular decision.

That's great that the video reviews have a section on the reviews page. I'm wondering how they're ordered. It doesn't seem to be most recent reviews first.

The video reviews were sorted by review submission date, we corrected to review publication date. Thank you for noticing.

Awesome job! I love the new video review section.

Thanks for explaining that to us, Gary. We've all been wondering about that, but what you said makes a lot of sense.

Gary, so all the people who're in the DR program still are, correct?
Or is it now an "everything goes, everyone's in" pool of reviewers?

Alright, that makes sense. Then that means that you will be assigning the Description Review products like how it happened before, correct?

Nope - nothing has changed as far as who is participating, or even about the program itself. The idea that you could request a DR product was something of a tease, because it had already been assigned by the time we saw it in the list - so Gary is just trying to prevent us from rising up and slaying him when he keeps denying DR requests.

totally made sense to remove the button since there is no way to know if it's been assigned and accepted yet

I see a number of you chimed in since the last question. Nothing else is changing for the Description Review Program. The last thing I want to do is discourage and frustrate anyone
