I just noticed that, instead of the combined site search, anything I input into the search box only searches forums, without the option of products, etc. I REALLY liked those options before and I think the forum-only search is pretty stunted.

Plus, since it is the regular site search, regular customers might get confused even more.

I also don't particularly find the option for when/where/etc to be that helpful. Simply being able to adjust search by time frame or relevance, like we used to, is enough.

The search options have a lot to be desired. An "advanced search" where we could add more details would be very helpful.

You only get the forum-only search when you're in the forums and you search something. If you search from the homepage (or any other page), you get the other options of Products, Reviews, etc.

This is what I was just about to post too. And I think narrowing posts down by who/when/etc is really helpful. It's helped me be able to find specific posts in a matter of seconds that would have otherwise taken me forever to sift through and find.

I was going to post that, too.

I like being to only search the forum, as sometimes I know I was looking for something I saw on the forum, but don't remember where. If I want products, I can search in that area.

The new format works for me.

It took me a while to realize the old search function wasn't gone. I am not active enough in the forum to really need the new forum search. But I'm glad others like it. The other one still suits me fine though.

Right but I do most of my product searching FROM the forums, actually and there's nothing to indicate that the behavior of the search has suddenly changed from every other page on the site.

But you could search only the forum before.

I think, regardless, the new forum search options look really sloppy and lack intuitiveness..
