LOL! I totally do that. I have reread things of mine so many times. I usually publish and I catch something after. I find it ... i guess easier to see in that next screen.
I do that, but sometimes I also add info that I didn't think of the first time around.

anyway here are the links to the guidlines.

Thanks for the link.

I am wondering how the voting for editing will go. I just saw a review where the editor's rating matched the contributor's rating (which was a low rating of Somewhat Useful). This was despite the fact that there were no misspellings or grammatical errors left in the review and the review was thus easy to read (though not necessarily that useful). It is not an editor's job to make a Somewhat Useful review a Useful or Extremely Useful review -- it is only to make it readable.

Perhaps a brief blurb in the box for the editor's rating explaining this to voters might be helpful to insure that the editor receives a fair vote?

I rated a review "useful" and the editor "good" because the editor was, in this case, the mentor. When the editor is the mentor, they should do a better job of helping with the review, not just editing.

I think that is a splendid Idea!

Also, I am curious to even know if this was supposed be be debuted today, since it is Thanksgiving and all the staff have it off, I figure they would release it on a day where it can get an Official treatment. I get the feeling I am stealing from the cookie jar when moms not looking, if you know what I mean.

How did you know the person was the mentor? One thing I do not like, with this system, is not knowing if the editor is the mentor or not. A bit confusing.

Went to the student's page.

I just noticed a review that had only extremely useful votes as well as excellent votes on editor, yet it is considered only a "useful" review, that is a little odd.

This makes my day! It is so much better being able to just go in and throw in a comma here and there, then to submit it back and tell the student every little grammatical error, then wait for them to fix it and send it back again!

<3 I am so happy with this new update! I just noticed it today, LoveBuzz submitted a review to me and I saw that I was able to edit it. Then I noticed the mentor rating thing as well! Going to sign up for the EdenTask thing!

Okay, cool program. Now to whom do I report a grammatical error in the proofreading program instructions?

Maybe we'll get some clarification on rating the editor, but wouldn't it be unfair to rate a mentor on the quality of the review when the rating is for editing? Seems that mentors would then be held to a higher standard than non-mentor editors. Otherwise, there should be a separate rating system for mentoring.

Well, I personally feel that it's up to the mentor to help the student make a review better. You can tell if there's improvement or not. Some of them seem like there was little put into it at all, and the mentor is simply posting the review thoughtlessly. That is what makes me rate the mentor/editor low. Also, many grammatical or spelling errors would make me do the same.

Well I can tell everyone that I put a lot of thought in when I click that approve button.

I just haven't come across it (Then again, I haven't read every review out there. With the Eden Points, I wouldn't be surprised).

I do not know if this will force people to be global mentors when they start editing. I don't know, guess it will take some time.

Anyone else think this might have been accidentally released? No staff really on duty, usually they would probably release something like this on a day that isn't a Holiday somewhere, that way more people are around when it gets an official thread.

I just noticed a review from a few days ago that I had voted on that know had the option to vote on the editing. It was not there before when I first read it, seems that they are back editing. (Does that make sense?)

I noticed this on reviews released by mentors, could that be the case?

That's not fair. I didn't have the option to edit the grammar of my students' reviews before this was released, that shouldn't happen.

I'm not sure about that, I just read a review where the "editor" wasn't listed as a mentor on the contributor that wrote the review's profile.

Could it be possible that this got leaked accidentally? Then again, I don't know how that would happen. The first one I saw was earlier today in my student's latest submitted review.

I also am not clear as to my opinion on voting mentors vs. editors, but it seems for someone to be approved as an editor they would need to be in the same bracket as mentors when it comes to proofing reviews, however a mentor is a bit different from simply editing and proofing a review.

I guess so, I just checked my students first review and I am shown as the editor. I reckon I will have to be more anal about checking the students review.

Hopefully we get an official announcement tomorrow.

Tried editing this because I was adding that it was previously mentioned about being leaked already, but I wasn't allowed to post it because I posted at the same time as Dwtim lol

I agree, I did not either. Thankfully I have only one review from a student but I know that others, like you, have had a bunch of reviews published from your students.

I am getting confused. So know we are graded for editing and mentoring at the same time.

It's not for me - I'm one of the writers that requires someone proofreading my reviews! But that sounds like a really good idea. Cause I'm guessing there's a massive backlog of reviews Eden has to get through. I submitted one of mine 11 days ago which hasn't come through yet but must be getting close.
That's another thing I like about the mentor program... tends to take a little of the strain off Eden editors too.

Maybe there should be a separate option for mentor editing versus regular grammar editing; I wouldn't rate someone down for a review that was unsatisfying but well-written grammatically, and I'd hope that nobody else would rate me down!
