Anal sex - Male - Newbie

Hey all. This is my first post on these forums, so a quick introduction! Hi! You may call me N, which, as you can see, is my name =3

I am 23, pansexual, and pangendered (though biologically male). I'm also a total virgin, because I am quite introverted and shy! I've never had a partner I could hold in my arms, but I do currently have a boyfriend who lives allllll the way in Denmark, and we've been together for about eight months now. Despite all the encouragement to "break up with him and get someone local," I am deep in love and that isn't going to happen

Which brings me to my question. I am currently saving up money so I can visit him in the winter (when plane tickets are cheaper!) and I definitely intend on lots of sexy times together with him! But I am somewhat concerned, as I have no idea what receiving is like! The concern is twofold, because his anus is virgin as well and we intend on taking turns, and I certainly don't want to hurt him as much as I don't want to get hurt myself =3

I have been "practicing" with progressively larger toys, to help prepare myself, but he has not really done the same. I just want to know if there are any pressing concerns when giving or receiving anal for the first time, outside of the standard "take it slow and pay attention to your partner's needs and comfort" advice.

Thanks ~<3

Use lots and lots of lube, go slow, and try using toys immediately prior to anal sex.

My partner and I always pre-empt anal sex with the use of toys. It's an excellent, fun form of foreplay that will help you and your partner relax. Pair the use of a plug with oral or grinding, and let his (or your) body relax and become accustomed to the feeling of something back there. Going from nothing but fingers to a cock can be incredibly over-whelming. Toys right before anal can really help with the relaxation process.

Thank you for the advice! Is the long-term use of toys something that can also help, or is it more of a "just before you do it" sort of thing? I imagine both will help in their own ways though =3
