For those who do use enema's pre anal, what is a GOOD and GENTLE (very gentle ) formula you use for your enema bag?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Please share your formula for a GENTLE cleaning enema, pre anal sex.

Also, if anyone has a good "relaxing enema" FORMULA (like a Camomile tea one) can you PLEASE share that?

THANKS

Either warm water or warm water with a pinch of salt and/or a quarter-teaspoon of baking soda in it per cup. Run it in slow and not too much. Sitting on the toilet or lying on your back keeps it from running up higher than needed, let it out as soon as you're ready. Give yourself plenty of time between the enema and the sex so that if there's any water "caught" up there it can either work its way out or be absorbed before play starts.

Don't use too much water (it just makes it take longer to come out and is more uncomfortable). Start with 8-12 oz and adjust down or up as necessary.

I wouldn't worry about a "relaxing enema" solution. Make sure it's at or just above body temperature, and then work on relaxing after you're done with the enema. A cup of camomile tea afterwards, a backrub, a little cunnilingus from your partner... it's likely any of those will be more relaxing than any safe and sane enema would be.

We engage in anal play all the time and have done so for decades without enemas.(and without "soiling") However, every time we have tried an enema (usually on DOCTORS orders before an exam), it is VERY....VERY....uncomf ortable and keeps us running to the bathroom, for HOURS. Not my idea of "prep" for anal play.

However, I have been reading about all the people who do "fun" enemas or "play prep" enema's and am really curious as to what formula's they use and if it causes them to feel like they have to keep "going"? Doesn't this enema really "stir things up" and make the bowel MORE active...rather then relax it (as I want MINE before hubby goes to play there for the afternoon???).

I appreciate your wonderful advice.

THANKS.

My guess is that the ones you used on a doctor's orders had soap in them or some other additive that tries to tie your colon in knots to get everything out - not so much fun. Smaller quantities of warm water or light saline doesn't do that much.

That said, if you don't need one for comfort or cleanliness I'd say skip it. the part that can be called "fun" is just the buttplay, and you can do that just as easily with fingers or toys. Yeah, for a while the warm water coming in can feel interesting and kind of nice-ish, but the water coming out part isn't so fun.

After a small enema I usually wait about 35 mins to an hour for things to settle down and be absorbed. You're not really looking to stimulate a bowel movement if you're generally healthy, just get a little water up there to rinse out any little bits left behind. Again, if your body and diet allow you to play without taking an enema I'd say why bother. Move straight to the toys.

I sat back and gave some thought to the question of why pre-anal enemas might be considered relaxing. I have thought of three possible reasons.

First, they do clean the rectum out. If you're concerned about anal not being clean you're going to have a harder time relaxing for it. After an enema you know you're clean so that is no longer a worry. If you don't have a problem with messes, and you know you don't, then this would not apply.

Second, it is an excuse to have some more anal play/foreplay. Not sure why you'd need an excuse, especially if you're getting ready for anal sex, but that could be an answer.

Third, it could be a ritual thing. Humans like rituals - think about all the ones you have, both acknowledged and unacknowledged. An enema would fit easily into a pre-anal ritual, since it deals with that part of the body and has certain things that you generally do the same way every time.
