So my boy and I always always use lots of lube when he goes back there, and I'm always quite turned on and already opened up from foreplay before he goes there. But today for about the 4th time in our 10 months of anal play (I'll say maybe about 10% of our anal sessions) I've had a bit of bleeding. Kind of like spotting when on my period. Not incredibly light, but enough to make you go...


Has this ever happened to you? Any ideas why exactly this would be happening? Any potential risks involved?

For the record, as I said, we DO use plenty of lube.
We ARE fluid bonded, and we don't use condoms.
We DO play rough back there sometimes. So I'm sure tearing can occur but... it's still a little unnerving.

There's not an option for my experience, which is "never for consensual anal." The only time I've ever bled was not similar to what you described (warmed up, lubed, consenting). Perhaps mine was worse than you describe, too, it took several weeks' treatment with ointment to stop bleeding.

I've only done anal a few times but the last time I tore and therefore bled A LOT. It was incredibly painful and took weeks to recover. I will never try anal again.

We were warmed up and ready, or so I thought. Some people just aren't sturdy enough back there.

antipova, i am so sorry to hear that you had to go through this. i truly am.

yes, my bleeding has already stopped. it was just a bit of blood in the moment and after i went to the bathroom i haven't noticed it.

i shudder to think of your situation.

that sounds awful. come to think of it, i've had a tear back there once before too. felt it happen, and could feel it for about 2 days after but that was all.

I consider myself fully recovered, mentally and physically---but I would give anything for no person, ever again, to have to tell their doctor this particular reason for coming to visit.

The rectum is very soft tissue and can bleed if irritated. More external, it can be from the anal sphincter muscle "tearing" a bit. Problem is, that can lead to an anal fissure...which can really hurt.

When this "bleeding" occurs, have your lover (yes, I know it sounds clinical, not fun), actually LOOK, maybe even with a flashlight and finger (WELL LUBED) to SEE if he can find if the bleeding is "deep or superficial", which will give you some idea.

Ages ago, I discovered that even LOTS and LOTS of lube may NOT get it INSIDE enough, since the sphincter will "rub" it off a finger, or penis. We thus use LUBE SHOOTERS (syringe made to put lube INSIDE for sure, before going anal). Some anal lubes also have a NOZZLE injector. Try using that type system, to make sure you get well lubed INSIDE before penetration by "boy or toy" and you may find, like me, you are FAR more comfortable and bleeding issues stop.

My thoughts to those who were hurt in the past. Healing thoughts for you.

Once in a great while, there will be a little bit of blood. It's almost always when I am having a slight flare up of hemorrhoids (sorry) I got them when I had my kids, but even people who don't have kids can get them. They itch like hell, they bleed a little (like spotting, off an on) and in a few days, with some ointment, you are fine again.

A tear feels more like fire. I find small tears (the only kind I've experienced) heal fairly quickly, a day or two.

My experience is much like P'Gell's. When I do encounter bleeding it is most always hemorrhoid irritation. Once or twice it is due to a small tear. All of which healed rather quickly and bleeding was more like a few drops here and there over the course of a couple of days.

I think it happened to me once but I am not even certain of that. I think it was one drop of blood but no spotting and healed quickly.

I know I have a hard core flexible anus, it's a pretty tough one. I never go into anal if I had a painful BM or if I feel like it isn't working. I never get to the point where pain or small tears can occur. I love anal and I never want to experience pain because it would deter me from doing it again.

So far only pleasure, no blood, and we never really play rough back there.

Surprisingly, I have not experienced any bleeding or other ill effects. Even the first few times I tried anal, I experienced mild discomfort, but still no bleeding.

My first time was awful and forced and I bled from it. It turned me off anal for many years. I enjoy it now but we go very slow.

I don't think it's surprising, it's normal to be careful with this kind of sex and usually be OK.

Even when we watch a porno with anal in it, My Man is coaching the guy, "Slow, dude, take it slow...." I don't even think he knows he's doing it.

ah! i'm so sorry! that's horrible. it took me 5 different dudes, 6 years and one persistent, loving boyfriend to open up to anal, and then it took him a year to really get me to allow him to do more than just enter for a moment. now i enjoy it for the most part but the blood thing is a little creepy.

if i'd had your experience though, i'd have never tried it again either! fuck that kind of pain.

I've never bled from anal although I can see why you would. The rectum is sensitive tissue.

Same. So maybe you are going too long or rough for your body.

The only time I have with consensual sex, has been more of a small streak than spotting. It didn't make me worried.

Just once, to my knowledge. It was the second time I had managed to use the A-Bomb. It was after removal, and it was a very, very tiny amount and an isolated incident. Nothing since.
Still, it was a nice warning to never be too overzealous... And still scary in its own right.

I have experienced this via "accidental anal." When we lived in dorms, we were having sex vaginally. I was bent over in the shower area and he was thrusting from behind when he accidentally pulled out too far and his penis slipped. A bit of skin was torn and there was a lot of blood for a small accident, and boy was it painful!

I actually just found this post because of an incident I had a moment ago. I've recently found myself wanting to get more into anal play, and considering anal sex with my current partner.

The other night we had sex, reverse cowgirl. He put in a finger or two, and even moved them in and out and it felt fine for me. However, once play time was over, and I took out the dildo and set it down to remove the condom I had put over it I noticed a tiny red spot on the tip of the condom. I got nervous! When I took the condom off, and wiped myself off I noticed a very tiny bit or red. Being [pretty new to anal play, this was and is disconcerting. When I went to the bathroom after, I noticed that there was some red and lube in my stool. Big toy + not quite enough lube + hard and fast can lead to a bit of blood for me. The rectum and other intestinal walls are very delicate and have lots of blood vessels in them. The good news is that it heals fast.

Care + lube + slow is always in style with buttplay.
