A lot of preparation with fingers and various sizes of butt plugs. It's important to relax, and definitely don't go straight for a penis. Chances are your ass isn't ready for that.

The very first time ever that my then GF and I had intercourse was anal. I think that I did a good job preparing with a lot of foreplay. Also, we went very slow. I must have done something right because even after her and I were having vaginal sex, she would ask for anal about half of the time we had sex.

Don't worry about how long others took. You need to take the amount of time you need. If you're not ready, comfortable and confident it won't be fun.
Remind him that it's in his interest to make sure you're ready, because if you love anal he'll get it more often. Practice playing around back there with fingers and toys, learn how to relax and enjoy it, then bring him in with fingers and toys. Only when you're comfortable with anal play and him giving you anal stimulation should you try penis-anal sex. Have a backup plan to so he knows he'll still have some fun if you call it off partway, then don't be afraid to call it off partway if you're not ready.

it only took a few times, you just have to find the position thats best for you and RELAX RELAX RELAX even after doing it comfortably for a few years now it can hurt me if i am not relaxed enough. take it slow lots of lube and just try to enjoy it
