This is NOT a good idea at all! (I'm a nurse and have seen the results of alcohol poisoning and absorbing alcohol rectally is VERY dangerous and very likely to land the person taking the "shot" in the ER in an alcohol induced coma.)
The rectum is a MADE to absorb fluid, as is the rest of the large intestine. They are lined with cells that go directly into the blood stream and any drug introduced into the anus becomes absorbed VERY quickly. Alcohol put into the anus will be absorbed faster and more "efficiently" than alcohol put anywhere else in the body, with the exception of injecting it (which is not recommended either.)
I don't know the exact numbers, but anal absorption is like 7:1 or 8:1. Meaning you absorb 7 or 8 times the drug placed in the anus as you would if it were taken orally. This is a GUESS as everyone is different and has different absorption rates.
When we want to get drugs or fluid into people quickly, we use either intravenous administration, infusion through the lower tibia or fibula (yes, it's as painful as it sounds, it's used when someone is SO dehydrated that they have experienced circulatory collapse and we can't get a vein, so we do a cut down and place the fluid directly into the bone marrow in the lower leg.) or anal administration. When someone comes into the hospital with extreme hypothermia, we often administer warm IVs and a warm enema, but we have to be careful not to cause water intoxication with the enema.
PLEASE don't put alcohol (or any other drug that wasn't meant for rectal usage) into your anus. It's asking for trouble, illness and even possibly alcohol poisoning severe enough to cause death.
