So it's already REALLY hot and if you live in an urban area (concrete jungle, baby!) or down south (how do you people do it?) suddenly EVERY thing seems 10x harder due to the heat. You put off peeing because it means moving, which means exerting energy, which means sweating. Cuddling up and doin' it for hours in a snow storm was romantic, but now when your partner sidles up for a kiss you shriek like they just burned you with a hot poker and demand they "GET THE FUCK OFF!!!! ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!" Then you stick your head in the freezer and cry out of sexual frustration and heat exhaustion.

So how are you all handling it? Is it taking its toll on your sex life? I have to be honest, the hot weather always seems to decrease the awesomeness of mine. How do you get by?

It does make it harder, because we both get worn out a lot quicker when it's hot, and it's hard to feel sexy when you're gross and sweaty from just doing something small. A few things we'll do that do help some are: wait till the heat of the day is over, take a cool shower, drink lots of fluids, and don't have sex under the covers.

We live in the deep south. We are both native southerners so it is something we are used to. However, we use AC, cold drinks (why do you think frozen margaritas are so popular in the south?, seriously lots of hydration, ceiling fans. And, while this may seem counterintuitive, take a hot shower, I mean really hot, then turn it to cold and feel the chill. Alternatively, as we did last night, hit the hot tub with cold drinks, then get out after a while. Man, the room felt positively great, even though it had felt hot 30 minutes earlier.

We're lucky enough to live in So CA the ceiling fan gets a workout in the summer and the AC in Aug & Sept - otherwise we love the cool feel of glass and metal toys in the summer.

We love a bit of sweaty sex followed by a romp in the shower and an encore if we're up to it.

Cold drinks air conditioning fans cool shower sex is fun. We don't let it bother us we are usually hot and sweaty afterwards so it makes no difference to us

Now THAT is an idea I hadn't thought of. Coming back to the room after running errands or something, I always feel like it's so cool. Very good idea, I'm making a note of it! The other problem for me is that the heat just saps my energy as well. Even when I can stand the heat, I need a boost of caffeine most evenings to be able to do anything more than a quickie.

You gotta love a somewhat cold shower in the summer, makes for nice sex even if there's a struggle. Just use an oil based lube and you're good to go! Buying a nice fan could also help

Step 1: Hop in the shower for a minute to make sure nobody is sweaty. Step 2: Get a couple glasses of ice water, and point a fan at your bed. Step 3: Have hot, sweaty sex on your fresh sheet. Embrace the sweat. If you or your partner is super stinky right after a shower, somebody needs to drink more water and see a doctor about that. Step 4: Get back in the shower and rinse off the sweat.

Repeat as necessary. Breaks for an energy boost (AKA ice cream) are encouraged at any point in the process.

If you are truly tired and want to get off together without showering, get on opposite sides of the bed and watch each other masturbate. You can even have a race if you're in a hurry. Sex toys are encouraged.

Ah, I can just imagine playing dolphin in the shower - sounds much better than Kafka a trois

Once I can actually shut the heater off, then I might have to opt for having sex in the basement, which is usually reasonably cool.

Seriously though, we get it on when it is cooler. We have done it in the pool and spa a few times. Doing it in a lake would be cool too.

We try to do it with the AC or we'll head towards the coolest room of where ever we are (best place is usually the basement.

We've set the central air at a comfy 78 degrees, so summer heat is not an issue when it comes to love-making.

I don't want to brag about it, but the outdoor temperature is a breezy 68 degrees right now! Guess that's one good thing living in the Northwest!

Dear Lord that sounds nice. We are hitting high 90's with basically 100% humidity down here in the deep south.
