So, not being a man, I cannot comment on this - but what's up with that phenomenon of "rolling over and falling asleep"? Do you only get one orgasm in a session or do you keep things rolling? Are you limited to one, usually, and just have to make the events leading up to it last for a long session?

Women, feel free to chime in on the comments with personal experiences about yourself or your partner, as applicable. I realize that some people are just plain only good for one orgasms a session, gender aside.

It's rare that I roll over and fall asleep, and it's also rare that I have sex with only one orgasm. The only time that I have rolled over and gone to sleep is when I've orgasmed many times, say, about six or seven. Even then, though, I make sure that the person I've had sex with is also tired so that they're willing to cuddle up to me and take a nap.

Until recently I simply assumed that multiple orgasms were strictly a girl thing. I start reading about male orgasms without ejaculation and I just get confused - I'm not the Tantric type.

As a college student having more than one orgasm per session was an athletic pursuit - as a guy over 55 it's a dream - maybe 1 or 2 times per year.

Wow - the science of falling asleep after sex! I loved the article - the untold story is that frequent release of all those brain chemicals seem to help overall health - not just get s little shut-eye. Maybe someone will study that aspect of sex - but I'm not sure that our society wants to know that sex is good for you! Who knows what that might lead to!!!!!!!!!

it depends.. even my gf will sometimes want to fall asleep if we don't talk, or get right back to being frisky. so if theres post lovemaking cuddling, talking helps. and while i often could go again after a few minutes, its not always an option. i'd say for me it mainly depends on 2 things.. 1 if she's going to want to go again, and 2. did i only technically get off, or did I COME. lol

Its funny my boyfriend after sex is always the wide awake talkative one and im the one who is exhuasted and falls alseep everytime even if only for about 10 minutes. its strange but usually after that 10 minutes im up and not exactly full of energy but im up.

Sex and having an orgasm wears me out completely. My boyfriend is worn out sexually after having his orgasm, but he's wide awake. He has trouble falling asleep if we have sex at bedtime. I, on the other hand, pass out. Solution: perfect time for sex is in the morning when I have the day off and can go back to sleep.

If I take something (Cialis) I can have several orgasms in one day. I have had as many as 7 in 24 hours. But usually only have 2 to 3 in 24 hours, if I don't take anything 2 is about the max in 24 hours.

My husband can have a couple of orgasms per session, but achieving the second one takes a little longer than the first. For me it depends on how tired I am or how intense the first orgasm is. One can sometimes wear me out and other times multiples may not. It's never the same each time.

I get pretty sleepy after sex (which tends to be multiple little orgasms, then big one, then a handful of littles heading back down) to the point where I just roll over and go to sleep. Husband, however, is good to go given about 10 minutes to recuperate.

Early on in our relationship we were like little rabbits until we could not move from exhaustion. Basically if I/she could get it up we do it again.

Now typically our sessions last an hour or so (not including foreplay) and we are very tired after. We both go to sleep snuggling.

While I can't exactly answer the poll for my hubby, I can say that he is never tired after sex. We both are wide awake for quite a while and usually get up and eat or do something to help us wind down so we can sleep. But I do know that's unusual for most men.

I can come more than once but it takes me a good amount of time so I don't think we've actually done it together. I mainly do it during my masturbation sessions. One thing that has changed though is I used to get really tired after having an orgasm but now I've gotten better at staying awake and helping the wife finish (as long as it's something I can do). If she's just using a bullet instead of me I tend to fall asleep pretty quick.

Correction, I now have had two orgasms in the same session. Definitely a fun experience. I did have quite a bit of time in between to recoop though.

I usually only get one orgasm, but having intimate closeness after sex was so important to me that I worked on not falling asleep right afterwards. I've even been working on keeping at least a partial erection after orgasm in case my wife hasn't had an orgasm yet, but I don't think a second O for me is in the cards anytime soon.

I always had this weird Anthropologic idea that men fall asleep after sex so that women have more time to keep them there to help raise the children. The more time you spend in a place, the more possibility that you will stay or come back. Plus, he wants breakfast.

My husband definitely gets sleepy after one orgasm. But in his defense, we often have sex at night, before bed, so that may have something to do with it! Although there are other times when it's in the middle of the afternoon or morning, and he's still sleepy afterwards. I guess it's a guy thing.

I believe it is the release of some chemicals that does that. I have heard and thought of a few reasons why this might be. I think it could likely be a bonding thing. With us, it's actually sometimes the opposite. I get sleepy and he may not. Maybe it is because he jumps up right away to clean me, and that makes him more alert? After that, he only falls asleep if I do or it is bedtime.
