I asked him several times and he says she says she just gets too into it and drags her teeth. I've seen her and whilst it really shouldn't make a difference her teeth are quite pronounced (truth be told she looks like an adorable beaver).

Look, ya can be mean about it or just savage. The ring thing works for 3 out of 5 but can slip. Use a full jaw lock and cage is the only way to get 9/10 results. Still a chance of slipping; so maybe waiting till they are 80 is best.
