It's fun, but you have to be in the mood for it. We kept forgetting this summer, despite the nasty heat.
I find that for him, holding the ice in my mouth to cool it down and then spitting it out before actually performing fellatio is the best way. He sometimes leaves the ice in his mouth and... puts it places. But, he also has a habit of chewing on it, and I'm always afraid I'm going to get bit! I hold the Tupperware we carry the ice in and make him spit it out before he goes down.
Put down towels or a Thoe, it melts and can make a mess.
